What’s cool is most of the Captains and the ships are real life characters. Although they did not all exist at the same time and May or may not have known each other. The Netflix documentary The Lost Pirate Kingdom tells you a lot.

Tried twice and never made it past episodes 5 or 6
5 or 6 is a good bit to go and not like it but I would say at least give the entire 1st season a shot before you give up. It only gets better.

Very end sort of stinks
I can see how some might not like a certain main characters story line, for obvious reasons.
For me personally, the very last scene of the show, is the best ending scene in TV history. Just the final minute or so. Not saying the entire episode, just the send off.

One of my all time favorite shows. The character arcs are some of the best I've seen. I want to say I remember their budget being low s1 and then got a massive boost for the remaining seasons.
Silver's arc is incredible, it really is, but man Rackham is one of the GOATs for me. He is an incredible actor, maybe he didnt care to act a whole lot after Black Sails, but im surprised he didnt get some quality roles after that.
