Finished the season. Feel like the season finale left some plot holes that I have a hard time seeing them fill but overall that was a great season of TV. Probably my favorite of 2024 so far.
Interesting change. I guess I can see them doing that because #2 leaving made him more of a villain with the things he did.
I'm thinking you can fill the "well now there are just a ton of Jasons/dead Jasons all over Chicago" plot hole by having them say goodbye to that world forever. Like screw it, that version of Chicago is just going to be like WTF is going on here.

One thing the show changed was all of Jason 2s box frickery after the abduction. IIRC, he never goes back in the box in the book. Having him jump around numerous times, and each time knowing how to actually pilot the box and get to the correct destination, without spawning infinite Jason 2 variants who end up back in the Prime Universe, is a major plot hole.

So I just finished this show and was curious what the M/TV board had to say about it…
SPOILERS
I actually don’t think that part was a plot hole at all. The real plot hole, IMO, is having all of the Jason 1 variants show up in the same universe.
The box itself plays no part in the spawning of additional universes. It’s just a way to travel between them. This is supported in the show by the fact that most of the other worlds they entered “spun off” before the box even existed.
In reality (at least if you subscribe to the many worlds theory) alternate universes are constantly spawning, no matter what. So from the moment Jason 2 swapped places with Jason Prime, there would be an infinite variants of both Jason’s’ universes. The show illustrates this in one of the two universes by showing us the alternate reality where Amanda gets shot trying to help another Jason 1 escape Velocity.
What the show misses is that there should also be an infinite number of universes where Jason 2 is living Jason 1’s life. Which begs the question - why do hundreds of Jason 1’s wind up in the same universe? Theoretically there should also be universes where only one Jason 1 made it back, as well as universes where no Jason 1 made it back.
That being said, the more I think about it the more I think it’s actually not a plot hole at all. In Jason Prime’s timeline, we see him return to a universe where (unfortunately for him) hundreds of other Jason 1’s also returned. If we followed a different variant of Jason 1, we might have seen a story where he was the only one who returned. It’s kind of a mindfrick when you think about it.
Anyhow I thought it was a good show. Not the best sci-fi I’ve ever seen, but entertaining. I don’t know anything about the source material but my feeling is it’s best as a one-off. They certainly could continue into a season 2 but it would be an entirely different show with the same characters. That’s hard to pull off IMO.

The show had a great buildup until the last 2 episodes. The infinite number of Jasons really threw me off, and I could not tell who was who. I realize its based off of a book and all. I liked the show, I just didn't care for the last couple of episodes.
