Dany and Targaryen bloodline question

In season 2 while in Qarth, Dany says to Jorah about her dragons "They are my children, and they are the only children I will ever have".
Did she mean this literally and figuratively? If she can't have anymore kids, then the Targaryen bloodline is done. Even if she ends up with Jon Snow(I doubt this will happen) and they have kids, the offsprings are not 100% Targaryen.

Not all Targaryens interbred. In fact, the Baratheons are an offshoot of the Targaryen family.

There was a prophesy in Season 1 about until the sun rises in the west and sets in the east and a whole bunch of other shite happen, that she will bear no more children. While it seems like a long shot, so was hatching 3 dragons.

Additionally one of the Targaryen Kings married into the Dornish line to bring them into the seven kingdoms.

Yeah but Dany is the last pure Targaryen left.
I think other families are different. They are mixed with Andals/First men. But Targaryens have been pure for a long time.

Mostly but not entirely pure.

since she can't further the Targaryen name/dynasty, does that mean she will die before the series ends? Having her die of old age is anticlamatic.

you're right.

No they haven't. Aerys II's mother was a Blackwood

No, Dany's great grandfather was Aegon V (Egg) who married a Blackwood.
Thus, at best, Dany's grandparents were only 50% Targaryen.

Not necessarily. The Baratheons have Targaryen blood - thus the partial basis for their claims. Robert has a number of bastards, notably Gendry.

I don't even know how to being with this - obviously this reverses the first point you made, but even having kids isn't good enough for you to continue the bloodline? I mean, the only way you think the bloodline could continue is if she had kids with Viserys?
Because, while common (the Targ family trees are notoriously unforked at times) it is not universal. Rhaegar's legitimate children were with Elia Martell.
Yes, both Aerys II (Dany's father) and Jaehaerys II (her grandfather) married their sisters, Jaehaerys' mother was a Blackwood, for example.

The Targaryen name passes down just like the other houses. Usually the husband's name passes, but I'm sure if Dany is queen, her name will be passed on. The Targaryen bloodline is far from pure Targaryen. Not all of them liked and/or participated in incest.

What if I told you there is the possibility that the theoretical children of Jon Snow and Dany would have both parents be Targaryen?
(I'm assuming this theory is no long "spoilerish"? Or is it?)
:mindblown:

You are braver than I.
ETA: But even if that were the case, according to the OPs line of thought the child still wouldn't be pure since all 4 grandparents wouldn't be Targaryen.

It's a theory accepted as canon - we've had the ToJ (although not the reveal part) - and that's as much as we've had in the books, other than the "Promise me, Ned."
I mean, I thought I saw the equation in the Hodor thread (not that it did them much good). I'm not going into any more details, other than floating it as a possibility. Since we don't know - frick it, it's probably spoilerish.

I could not care less about the feelings of people who only watch the show if something gets spoiled. I get that not everyone like to read - that's fine. But shouldn't expect people to censor their conversations on a story that's been out since 1996.

How does a theory spoil anything?
