What's so great about an episode like this is that it takes a fairly mean-spirited idea ("let's make fun of Glee!") and they make it, well, gleeful. The show was just so ridiculous at times. But also, the songs were perfectly tailored to each character. That's a good song -- not just funny, but a good character beat. And Abed using Britta's ability to ruin anything for the forces of good was perfect.

However, what I love most about the show is not just how funny it is, but that the show isn't afraid of having heart. there was a real move, inspired by Seinfeld, to make sitcoms as cynical as possible and have main characters who were generally unlikeable. Community ended with the group going back to Abed's place to watch bad TV and sing a Christmas carol -- these character like each other. the show's not afraid to show emotions and even be somewhat vulnerable.

Allison Brie Scene

Favorite show on TV, it must be brought back. We should mail something to the studio like they did for Jericho or Kenneth mailing sugar cubes to save TGS and getting arrested for anthrax scares minus the getting arrested part.

Loved it, one of my favorite episodes. Now let's get this show back on the air.

I thought it was decent. I get the whole Glee angle, but it got somewhat tiresome for me after a while. I never realized Brita had such a nice body. She looked nice in those tights.

The ending credits, though, were amazing. Very well done.

Listen, I'll admit: I've watched Glee…I started it at the beginning (when it was clever), and for some reason I can't stop. It's a terrible show but I'm at the point where I might as well finish it out…that being said, since I've seen quite a few Community's (all of them) and quite a few Glee's (all of them) I can say this skewering of Glee was, frankly, gleeful. Pitch perfect (ok, I'm done with the puns). I want to have Dan Harmon's babies. Now to my highlights (in chronological order):

Love when the glee club guy stabs his own hand

"What the hell are regionals?"--Pierce

Glee turns your pain into shoes and your shoes into DANCE!

"I'll understand everything because they'll sing what they mean instead of making a face."--Abed

"and they won't stop talking about regionals"--Annie

Baby Boomer Santa might be the best song of all time.

Holy shite, coquettish Alison Brie in the santa minidress might make me embarrass my pants at work, right here at my desk.

"National Lower-Zone Semi's" sounds like a new addition to the BCS…

Britta in a body suit makes her not so bad…

"We'll see you all after re-gion-als" by the chorus at the end, alluding to the hiatus.

All in all, another win in my book, then again I'm hopeless biased towards this show and the people who make it...

Am I the only one that was more turned on by Britta last night then Annie?
And I am always an Annie fan.

Wow.

Agree. Liked her song the least.

Liked her performance the best.

completely agree. best song, imo, was the troy/abed rap.

The Annie song was hysterical because it was so ridiculous. And ended with "sex" appropos of nothing.

But Baby Boomer Santa, I agree, was the highlight.

What a great Christmas episode. I have never seen a TV show incorporate so many different things into one episode.

Make fun of Glee, turning cult/town premise, actual songs, and much more.

I hope people got the Kings of Leon joke, one last stab at Glee.

Finally got a chance to watch it. Hilarious episode and I absolutely lost it when Dean Pelton said "Oh Britta's in this?"

I don't know if I want to live in a world without Community.

This episode was so incredible, one of the best of the series. Words cannot express how I feel about them shelving this show.

I've already watched it again - and yes, it is just as amazing the second time around. Could watch this show over and over and not get tired of it.

Now I'm going to watch it again!

I am trying to think of a movie about college kids that this reminded me of, converting students and all.

ETA Disturbing Behavior! (Stepford Wives is another match.)
