Marvel Bracket Final Selection
Okay, I went through the list we put together. I tried to take the top tier main characters and avoid the "god-tier" characters. I narrowed it down to a list of about 38. Look over the list and help me trim the fat of 10 names. We are going to keep 28 from Marvel total. We need to hash this out today.
Basically nominate 4 out of the main list or make a case for someone in the honorable mention category.
Today is the last day to throw anyone's hat in and make your case. Tomorrow we will move on to DC and i'm sure it will not be Batman heavy discussions.
Also, please request this thread be stickied.

If you're going to have villains, that cuts the list in half, I think. Non-God Tier Villains - Sebastien Shaw, Carnage, Omega Red and Taskmaster.
Keepers in bold. Throw aways in italics.
You can't not have Storm. I'd also add Kitty Pryde and Scarlet Witch (Over Quicksilver). I'd add Vision and Nightcrawler as well.
And no Thor?

I intentionally left out SW because of her reality altering powers (I considered her god-tier), and I left out Night Crawler because he can teleport anyone an leave them.

I think it's go big or go home on the scope of what you want this to be. The questions you need to answer:
1. Do you want Heroes AND Villains?
2. Is this about POWER or fighting skill - With Cable, Deadpool, Wolverine, X-23, Punisher, Hulk, Juggernaut, The Thing etc. - It seems you're leaning towards fisticuffs rather than a superpowered fight.
3. If you create arbitrary situations: Nightcrawler, Scarlet witch, then you have to do it for everyone. That throws A LOT of people out. Deadpool and Wolverine are night unkillable, so they have to be out too based on that argument. Flash and Superman, gone. The ramifications are broad reaching.
I think either your should do a "Best FIghters" and get all the previously mentioned in, leave out anyone with heavy powers or a no holds barred, heroes on heroes battle, no Extreme God Tier characters (who are usually neutral anyways). Silver Surfer and Superman in. Limit it to the most popular. Let the voters argue the heck out of Why Nightcrawler can't win against the Flash. That's the fun part. Don't create situations and leave out heroes because of them. That's what the voting threads should be for. Discussing those situations.

Well I have an idea, but I don't want to force my vision on everyone. I want feedback so that we can make this into something that everyone wants.
The problem it seems is that everyone wants something different. Don't even get me started on the Rick Grimes guy.
So i'm trying to feel out everyone and come up with some middle ground.

lol, thats what I kinda thought I did in my last update
However, I want all the comic readers to have a say in the ballets, so that's why I wanted to give people one last chance to look at the list and make their suggestions or give their opinions.
Either we can come to a general consensus or not. If we cannot, well then i'm just going to have to make the call.

Heroes only, and the characters that MOST People can talk about given movies and overall popularity. 20 Marvel Characters. Vote on the Last 6. That's probably your most popular. I love Sentry. I think Sentry should be in. But I don't think anyone outside of a few could argue about why he would win. So it's kind of pointless. Limit to the best of their class, No Thing because of Hulk. No X-23 because of Wolverine. No Shatterstar because of well...I got nothing.
For the Non-DC/Marvel Superheroes, that's super easy:

What we can do is have one side strictly good guys (64) and one side strictly bad guys (64)
So the finals will be the best hero vs the best villain.

That's why I made the post above. Just keep it to popular heroes, no Extreme God-Tiers. That's easy and defined. You really only need to debate about 16 slots, not the ENTIRE field.

There are less villains and people often know less about them. And they are often overpowered, or over-recognized for something extreme which skews perception.
I mean, that would be awesome, but also be a BIG project.
