Reeves is producing and is heavily involved which is easy to tell. This will be connected to the Batman side as originally planned. Gunn will pretend it’s his if it does well but it’s not.

Initially it was then Gunn pulled it over to his side to connect to Superman. If you remember this was at the time where Reeves was saying he was quitting the DC stuff but now Reeves is running it and after Supergirl bombs they’re gonna put it back on The Batman side. Supergirl was screened to awful reception, Gunn rewrote it, it was screened again and the reception was worse.

I definitely agree that this looks like it would be better for Reeves' world, but flanagan pitched it to Gunn. I don't think he ever met with Reeves.

I don't know a thing about the origin but this looks hopeful - new and not some regurgitated adaptation of previous superhero movies with the same name, but different leads.
