I love Christian Bale, but I really don't think he can pull this off.
Shiiiiiiiiiit, guy is one of the best actors around in the 35-45 age group. (And that's an age group that includes Leo DiCaprio, Matt Damon, Matthew McConaughey, Benedict Cumberbatch and Edward Norton). He'll do just fine.

A whole lotta CB hate in here.

I think it's a great choice.
Excellent actor for an interesting person.

Is Jobs really so fascinating that he deserves two movies in two years?

When I think of words to describe Steve Jobs, I come up with: prick, aloof, flat, affectless...
Which is exactly how I'd describe Christian Bale.
It's how I would describe Sorkin. I'd add pretentious and petty.

Yeah, Sorkin in the only one who I think is a huge douchebag. He's not a director. He's a propagandist.

He deserved biographies and maybe a movie, but it's silly to rush them so soon after his death. But the studios probably figure they need to sell tickets while Mac fandom is at its peak.

Do you know who Aaron Sorkin is? He's never directed anything.

Why is it silly?
Also, they're two totally different films and stories. One was a story about the rise and fall of Jobs. This one is apparently backstage before and after he announces the Apple products that would define him.

So a pretentious, insufferable filmmaker
Couldn't have described Sorkin better myself

Sure you could have. Sorkin doesn't make films. He writes them. He doesn't direct. He doesn't produce anything but his television shows. He writes a movie and gives it over to an academy award caliber director and that's that.

Right, sorry. You know what I mean. He gets more attention than most writers. His credits are nothing but lefty propaganda. Even Obama sees it.
Posted on 10/25/14 at 1:57 pm to UL-SabanRival
He gets more attention than most because he's better than most. He has plenty of credits that are free from politics and are hardly propaganda.
Posted on 10/25/14 at 2:17 pm to TotesMcGotes
His credits are a bunch of lefty propaganda. A Few Good Men was his only really good movie. There are a couple of decent ones, then nothing but slanted bullshite. It isn't shitty writing, but the dude has an agenda.

He writes pretentious drivel that seemingly elevates the apparent intelligence of the actors until you realize that no one speaks that way.

No one speaks the way the characters on Modern Family do, either. I imagine you could say this for a ton of writers.

Yea Moneyball was clearly an attempt to get the voting public to go out and support Obama. Same with The Social Network.

That's why Toby and Leo were my favorite characters on The West Wing. They were the only ones who didnt talk like Gilmore Girls with noble goals.

Modern family isn't a realistic drama (or even a realistic comedy).
