Having never read the books and just speculating, I believe the series is much more about conspiracy and deep state gov't black ops betrayal, a la Bourne and Shooter (also a Fuqua project) than a straight up Punisher revenge type of show.

I won't spoil the books but James Reese goes on a straight up revenge tour that makes John Wick look compassionate. Hopefully Amazon sticks to the script, I have my doubts since they are calling it a "conspiracy" show.

This should be another Bosch level home run for Amazon if they don't frick it up, maybe bigger considering the people involved.

Highly recommend the books if you enjoy the genre (Mitch Rapp, Scot Harvath, etc). Jack Carr is a good follow on instagram as well, heavy on history and light on rah rah frog man shite.

Chris Pratt as a Seal is a great choice. He just looks like he could be one with his frame.

Carr says in the recent Rogan appearance that the show will be extremy violent in parts. So much so that he said audiences may be taken aback a bit seeing Pratt in such a role.

Carr was my least favorite guest Rogan has had on in a long time. The dude couldn’t quit name dropping. Seemed full of himself.
