Halfway through and I'm liking it so far. The sleep demon episode lost Mrs. Vox.
Definitely did their homework with the witchcraft and demonic references. A lot of that stuff is the real deal.

It was very good, I liked it. The annoying token gay and checkmark is standard for shows how a day but overall. It good.

I was not a fan of episodes 4 or 5, felt a lot like Buffy "Monster of the Week" episodes, which is fine but not what got me excited about the beginning. The exorcism episode won me back in a big way, though. Still have 2 episodes to finish.
Standalone Christmas episode announced for Dec 14th.

Finally finished this yesterday. Liked the finale, didn't love it. Trying to be excited to see the new, darker Sabrina going forward.
Gotta say, Madame Satan is one of my favorite tv villains in recent years. She was the MVP of S1, dominated whenever she was on screen.

Harvey is a soy boy in this.

Goth/Wyrd Sister Sabrina is an interesting wrinkle.
I keep thinking that the actress who plays Sabrina looks like a grown-up version of McKenna Grace.

Does Nick Bakay still voice her cat?

No. This is not a comedy like its predecessor.

I'm excited for that!
Overall I really liked the tone of the whole show... I like the ambiguous time period feel to it and how it was creepy but never scary. And completely different than the Melissa Joan Hart TGIF version.
I'm sick of Harvey, so hopefully something happens between Sabrina and Nick. Also excited about her seemingly leading the Weird sisters now.
I was excited to see sweet lovable Hilda finally connect with Dr. Cerberus. It will be interesting to see if he turns out to be "good" evil or "evil" evil if he is indeed the Hell Hound.

Nick
My wife is convinced that Nick Scratch is the Dark Lord just kicking it among the teenage members of the coven.
Evidence being two of Satan's nicknames were "Old Nick" and "Old Scratch", his popularity among students, his advanced knowledge of magic and access to banned materials, and his immediate desire to frick Sabrina.
I see it as 2 story possibilities:
1. He is Satan. Ends up being revealed as the Big Bad in season 2 or 3. This would be fine.
2. He is merely the offspring of Satan, and will eventually side with Sabrina in her quest to overpower him, but only after sabotaging her plans several times and no fewer than 4 tortured monologues about familial obligation. Piss on all that.

I also have a feeling that Nick will play a larger role in the 2nd season. I'm not sure if he's evil or good. So far he's gone out of his way to help Sabrina (he protected Harvey from the Greendale 13 and stopped Prudence and Dorcas from killing Harvey's brother).

Can't believe my old Christian arse actually got into this devil worshipping show ... but I did, watching it with the wife.
It's different for sure.

Given that Ol' Scratch and Ol' Nick are both slang names for Satan, that was my guess from the day they introduced him.

My doubt is that it's almost too obvious; that's why I'm entertaining the idea that he might be a son or something.
It's hard to tell exactly who the audience is supposed to be (part of what makes the show so entertaining) or how much credit the writers are willing to give them (part of what makes the show frustrating).

My wife and I really enjoyed the first half of season 1. Excited for the second half.
