Chief of War (AppleTV+) Deserves Your Attention

This show is my second biggest surprise so far this year (The Pitt #1). Momoa shines as the lead, co-writer, and the director of the finale. Visually stunning and a limited use of CGI makes it feel authentic. It is easiest to compare it to Shogun. While it doesn’t quite reach the same level with dialogue, it more than makes up for it with a finale that actually delivers on the buildup of the season. It’s not an exaggeration to say it fricking delivers.
Before anybody complains, this is not a native good, white people bad story. The true villains are Hawaiian and it does nothing to shy away from their brutality.
The first two episodes are all in Hawaiian but it transitions to about 60:40 Hawaiian and English for the rest of the season. Every episode is available so there is nothing stopping you from binging it.

I think it will get a second season. If Apple can give 3 seasons and counting to that horrible alien show Invasion, they can give us another season of this.
