can someone tell me what happens on unknown with liam neeson?

i finally gave up on the movie but i'd like to know what happened, why was somebody trying to steal his life?

I only saw it once, but it turn out that he was a some sleeper agent/assassin that had planted that bomb in the hotel weeks before. His wife was in on the whole thing.

He and his "wife" were both agents under assumed identities. So once the accident happened, she went on to fulfill her duties under other identities, which is why Liam was confused that she'd act like she didn't know him and was married to someone else and all that. He eventually realizes that he (and she) was in on the assassination.
Or some shite like that.
BTW, if we're going with movies titled "Unknown," I'd recommend the 2006 one...it's MUCH better:

so did he lose his memory from the wreck? why didn't they fill him in on anything so he's not running around causing problems.
