The thing is, this goes for Star Wars fans, too. Star Wars fans are quick to defend any criticism of Star Wars. Not for this one. Even diehard Star Wars fans are shitting on it. It's that bad.

There are two huge groups of people that hate this movie. The first being any hardcore fans. The second being people who value plot and story line over action and eye candy.

Sure there are a bunch of people that are casual fans and like all the eye candy, but I think 50% is actually pretty generous to this movie.

It's not consistent.

Everyone I know personally liked it, I've heard some flaws but overall everyone I know enjoyed it.

At 55% I should have at least run into one person who hated it, I work with over 9,000 people. Not one has said they didn't like it. It's the vocal minority posting on RT or bots, no other explanation

It's very similar to all the polls locking Hilary into winning, everyone had polls of her crushing Trump

Solid movies don't have irrelevant subplots take up 35% of the screen time.

I don't think we watched the same movie. It was not irrelevant.

1 - They recruited a code breaker who sold out the rebellion's transport escape plan. The transports would have made it safely to the planet and the First Order would not have found the rebellion.
2 - Holdo would not have kamikaze'd Snoke's ship.
3 - Luke would not have had to hologram to stall and subsequently disappear/die.
4- They also inspired the next generation of rebels.

Do you not understand the influence that is DC fans? Have you not visited this board ever? There is one huge difference here, the fans of Starwars hate the TLJ. This is what you are seeing. TLJ is a debatable good movie on it's own but it ruins the past trilogy and TFA.

This entire statement is very accurate.

People not invested into the overarching saga of Starwars will probably like it. That is not a shock.
The problems with the movie is how it ruined other movies and did not payoff teased story points.

Also the Finn and Rose story.

I edited. I can see how you think that.

I personally think the movie was good on it's own but I hate it as a Starwars film

Every time something sucks it’s bots, trolls & white supremacists

If I like it, it can’t be universally reviled

Not trying to be rude, but I don't think you understand what you are talking about. The points you have listed have nothing to do with the subplot.

The subplot was Finn and Rose running around doing a bunch of nonsense that didn't matter because Holdo had a different plan all along. Their entire story was completely pointless and took up major screen time.

These aren't my friends, this is about the 9,000 people I work around everyday.

As soon as I hear negative takes I'll post them. I find it fishy is all. It makes sense though, the people liking it aren't going to RT, just the salty people

So other words fanatics that live and breathe it.

Again, this is why the point of the film was to burn down the old guard and start fresh, I guess I just appreciated it more than superfans bc I agree, it's time for new blood.

I'm done defending it, I agree with the flaws, Finn could be wrote out completely (I was hoping he flew into that cannon (

What the heck are you talking about? Give me context.
Are you pointing out the RT user scores for those movies... Because you are not accurate.

Critic Scores
BVS 27%
SS 26%
JL 40%

User Scores
BVS 63%
SS 61%
JL 79%

Looks pretty damn consistent don't you think?

I mean, given all the criticism this movie has received, does 56% stand out to anyone as odd?

Well except for OP and the 9000 people he works with that didn't talk bad about the movie.
