Just watched it again over the weekend. Anyone else enjoy this messed up movie?
Its a true story that was turned into a low budget movie. Its completely twisted and fricked up! You'll definitely get a laugh or two b/c its a "B" movie with over acting...but this movie will deffinitely leave you saying WTF, I promise.
quote:
The movie is based on the 1993 murder of Bobby Kent in Cooper City, a suburb west of Fort Lauderdale, Florida. Specifically, Marty Puccio (Renfro), Alice Willis (Phillips), Lisa Connelly (Miner), and others are the real-life counterparts of the characters in the film. Many of the convicted teens were released after serving several years in prison; today, only three are still serving prison sentences.[citation needed] The book, Bully: A True Story of High School Revenge, was released in 1998.
The actual co-perpetrators of the murder were convicted and sentenced as follows
Heather Swallers: second-degree murder and conspiracy (seven years imprisonment).
Derek Dzvirko: second-degree murder and conspiracy (eleven years imprisonment).
Alice Willis: second-degree murder and conspiracy (forty years imprisonment. Reduced on appeal to 17 years in prison. Released on parole in 2001. Currently under community supervision for 40 years).
Donald Semenec: second-degree murder and conspiracy (life plus 15 years imprisonment).
Derek Kaufman: first-degree murder and conspiracy (life plus 30 years imprisonment).
Lisa Connelly: second-degree murder and conspiracy (life plus five years imprisonment. Reduced on appeal to 22 years. Released on parole in 2004).
watch it when you can....its filled with awesomeness (teens, sex, drugs, murder)

Awesome movie. It came on IFC not long ago. Pretty wild story and that bully was a complete a-hole.
Might have been Brad Renfro's last movie as well?

I almost bought this a few weeks ago, but didn't pull the trigger on it.

Saw it on ICF a few months ago.
I think one of the actors ODed.
Either way, I missed the last 25 minutes or so. Still haven't seen the ending.

I found it for like 8 bucks used a couple years ago. I love buying movies so it was a no brainer.

I would say Yay...I've only seen it once and I was drinking, but remember it having the same shock factor as Bully
most movies directed by Larry Clark are gonna keep you interested some way or another.
besides Bully I would have to say Kids is his next best film.

Downloaded that one a few years ago. Watched it for shock value and I wasn't disappointed. I really don't remember what the hell the movie was really about.

So you think Bully is better than Kids...cool. I enjoyed Kids somewhat. I'm not sure I would like Ken Park, Gummo, etc. But I'll give Bully a try though.

I think Bully is better than Kids as far as a story goes.
plus, don't blink, you get a crotch shot of Bijou Philips.

I enjoyed seeing Rachel Minor fully nude for half the movie!

Oh yeah hands down Bully is better. Mainly b/c its based on a true story. The movie is fricked up on so many levels.
Leo Fitzpatrick who was the main character in Kids is also in Bully. His role in Bully is great.
if you keep in mind thats its a low budget/B movie, then you can enjoy it for what it is.

yeah I watched it also
as soon as I finished the american justice true story I just had to rewatch Bully again...it was even better the second time being able to put the real faces with the character.

Kids, Bully, Ken Park. Dude is way too fascinated with teen sex.
I actually found Ken Park to be obscene. Nothing but teen sex and out of left field violence with almost zero plot. There is a reason so many countries said no thanks to Ken Park. It is trash.

Can someone explain to me how someone with a Life + 5 years can be out of prison in 6 years?

I remember the first time I saw it on late night HBO. thought it was one of the most fricked up movies I'd ever seen, but very intriguing.
