I think that Walt is now past the point of providing for his family. It's largely about his ego now. He's finally exceptional at something for once in his life. He's well respected and the best at what he does.

Good assessment. I'm really curious to know how Walt's situation is going to play out with Skyler. She's going to find out about him sooner-or-later. I doubt she will take it too well when she finds out her husband is the mastermind of a methamphetimine ring.

how has he gone beyond providing?

Yeah. I don't get this either. He's not going beyond. He figured out exactly what he needed to cover the house, the bills, and his kids education. He came up with like $700,000 or something. That's certainly not over kill.

I don't think so. I think he needed like 11 more drug deals he said?

I know. I don't know how I lived before watching this show. By far, the best writing on tv.

Something I noticed tonight, both Jessie and especially Walter have incredible voices. I cannot believe that Walter was on Malcolm in the Middle. Bryan Cranston is as talented dramaticly as anyone on tv right now.

Just an absolutely killer show. The writers don't rush things. I love how they have the patience to let the story develop.

I may have missed this in the beginnging, but does Walt have any hope of beating the cancer or is it pretty much accepted that he'll be dead within a year?

I think Hank has figured out that Jimmy is not the "real" Heisenberg. Did you notice how Jimmy surrendered before he was actually busted?

I agree, he had that look on his face at the end. It's obvious that this P.O.S. cannot cook up the purest meth they have ever seen.

I saw that, I guess some of his arrests have been a little brutal and he wasn't taking any chances. And who the hell would only want 30K to go to jail for 8 years.

Also, what up with DJ Qualls, I wonder if thats just a cameo or if he'll be a recurring character. Everytime I see him on anything, I think about smearing some peanut butter on my balls.

He sure played Badger like a chump. I can't believe Badger was so stupid.

Do you think Sklyer was actually going to work, or was she going "work it" with Ted? She sure looked awful dressed-up for working on the weekend.

Saul mentioned that he was making sure Jimmy wasn't going to spend 8 years in prison because of "technicalitites".
And like he said some people do better inside than outside of prison. Based on the way he gave up, i'd say he's an insider type of guy.

Was kind of disapointed in how silly this guy seemed during the show last night. Even while tied up and being held at gun point he was cracking jokes. The line he had about wanting to be like Tom Hagen to the Corleones was great though. Looks like he could be a regular if he doesn't end up dead too quickly.

Having DJ Quales as a cop hurts the credibility of the show since he is as stupid irl as any of the street hoods. Jessie's dealers could have based their characters on his little punk arse. He would have fit right in with their stupid butts.

Glad Jessie got the mattress but they cut away from that waaaaay too early! (Tchefuncte, am I becoming obsessed with Jane the way you are with Skyler?)

I didn't think the attorney character was unrealistically silly; I think those attorneys really are like that. The only part of the episode I didn't like was Walt pulling up to Hank's car and acting the way he did.

Oh, and Jane is smoking.

I agree. That was a bit far-fetched.

and how studid was walt to be sitting a block down in his car watching the bust go down

it may be a stretch, but I don't think there are too many pontiac aztecs with a missing hubcap in new mexico. It would have been really easy for him to get noticed. he's getting more and more daring each week, its gonna catch up with him.

Watching the episode a second time, I'm really shocked that the two vans that came in for the bust didn't notice Jesse getting out of Walt's car...

Is Season One out on DVD yet? It wasn't at Blockbuster this weekend. I missed the last two episodes of S1.

As far as the fall guy being too stupid to cook meth, it doesn't matter. His job is to simply take the fall and not talk at all. That way the story (from the cop's end) stops there.

I do agree that bald DEA guy doesn't buy it. It will just take longer to go around criminal bald guy's stonewalling.
