At that point I don't think it mattered to him if he were taken alive. He gave Jesse the option to shoot him but it didn't matter since he already took a bullet from the M60. Had he not I think he would have just sat there and waited for the cops. He accomplished everything he set out to do.

I saw a post earlier in this thread about certain characters not getting closure.

Marie: walt giving the coordinates to skylar is closure for hank, gomez, and marie. They will get buried properly and marie will likely be set for life financially with hanks life insurance with the DEA.

Jesse: no one knows where he is going but he has a few options. He is not fit to adopt brock so that is likely out of the picture, at least for now. His parents do seem like they are well off and have according to jesse's brother they always talk about him so they are concerned and willing to help him. He essentially gets a clean state now that everyone who was a threat to him is dead. He also left walt for the last time on good terms.

Flynn: he has a shite load of money coming down the pipe which will be laundered due to the grant. I think now that walt finally told the truth to skylar she respects him a bit more and over time her and flynn will accept him.

yeah Marie and Jesse definitely got closure, with Marie getting Hank's remains, and Jesse finally being free of everything

Flynn didn't though. He still will never know the whole truth. He still thinks his Dad killed his uncle.

I took Jesse's vision as a glimpse into his future..healthy, healing, finding solace in a new life, far away. With Badger and Pete, of course.

Gilligan's biggest accomplishment may have been having a season as compelling as season 5 after his kills off someone like gus.

This.

After the season 4 finale I had real reservations about how the show was going to go on after the killing off of a villain we spent 3 seasons with. But of course it was handled perfectly.

Well folks, I'm going to hit the hay. Long day tomorrow.

It has definitely been fun starting these threads for this last half of the season, waiting in anticipation with the rest of you for the next episode, talking about the episode, but unfortunately it has come to a close. It has definitely been a fun ride

I'll never forget where I was finishing the show.

Couldn't ask for more.

Also to all of you for the great discussion and insight over the years.

The TD crew made my viewing even more enjoyable.

Cheers everyone.

I want to go watch an episode of Malcolm in the Middle now. It's crazy how good Cranston has been, especially in these last few seasons.

Btw, Todd's ringtone made me Even postmortem, Todd still delivers.

I wonder if Walt went to the nazi's lab to die so that he will get credit posthumously for the blue meth that Jessie made?

Fantastic show and fantastic ending. Just amazing.
