Which is why I want to see the alternate ending because it's the true ending

Good thing no one bet you, huh? You want to be right so bad, I just don't get it. fricking dying kid may have ruined your "I told you so" chances.

It could be an intentional diversion but the insider podcast diminished a significant Gray Matter angle.
The writers talked about trying to find a spot and a way to reintro Gray Matter.
Cranston, who sat in on that same insider podcast, said that seeing Gray Matter on tv was a catalyst and made him change his mind from surrendering to going back to New Mexico.
Believe in the podcast that Gilligan says that is the last we see of Gretchen and Elliot.

I've wondered how far back this alternate ending is going to go? I feel like it's only going to be the last five minutes of the show though

Exactly. Gray Matter reignited Walt's pride, that's what they were there for. This is a story about Walter White's meth empire, not Gray Matter.

All I know is Walt better shave his head to be like Heisenberg. I don't want this sickly looking grizzly man dominate.

I've got so many conflicting feels.
I'm so excited and can't wait for Sunday but then I know I'm going to be sad that I won't ever be able to watch an episode for the first time again.

In the podcast, did they say when they talked to the kid that wanted GM introduced?
Was it early on in the series?
If GM plays a role in this last episode, how much did they have to change up in order to get them in? If last week was it, then it was easy to get them included. But if they are featured prominently, how much of the end was changed to accomadate it?

Walt kills the Nazis and Jesse. Arranges it for Marie to adopt Brock. Frames GM 100% for the Heisenberg thing, fixes Flynn pancakes one last time and dies of cancer.
Boom.
(j/k - I got nothing.)

wouldnt matter if someone did. I specifically said that GM had to play a significant part in the finale, which they apparently wont, so it would appear im right.

i dont see what you're saying. he just proved me right. from what the podcast said, GM originally did not have a scene in Granite State, and they put them in at the behest of this kid.

The kid who passed said he wanted to know WHY the Schwartzes and Walt parted ways.
VG and the writers took that idea and who knows what the real meaning or outcome will be with Gray Matter.
Last week's writer/director of "Granite State" said the following in an interview with EW this week-
Sounds to me like we haven't seen the last of Gray Matter, Gretchen, or Elliott.

Right. Which brings us to the bar. So I have to ask: Was bringing Gretchen and Elliott back always part of the plan?
It’s tricky. I can’t say too much because … the story’s not over yet. And there’s a lot of story yet to come in the next episode.

Wasn't woodworking originally introduced to show that Jesse eventually perfected his box in the class. Anyone else think he cooks the meth better than Walt ever did in this episode?

I think that's a possibility. Like the student really did learn something from the teacher

And then he forgives Walt because he realizes that even though Walt took so much from him, he also gave him the everlasting gift of scientific understanding. They bro-hug and credits role.
