Laughable. One shot from a 44 magnum can crack an engine block.

Last response on this as I was asked to stop but you are wrong. Taking a chunk out of a block and passing through are two different things.

Man, the tension was so good before the first shots were fired.

You KNEW they were going to shoot. That wasn't the tense part. The tense part was figuring out who if anybody was going to be killed. I seriously at that moment said "No! Don't let Hank die!" just because Walt was yelling his arse off.

Just rewatched it, definitely looks like Gomez has been shot and has blood on the front of his shirt.

So that was the most evil cliffhanger yet.

We went back and forth about it, it was just the way things laid out production-wise. Like anything else, we debated where to end it. There were different renditions.

I was asked not to make this a gun pissing match but an engine block would stop everything they had.

Agreed.

Still, though, they wouldn't have made cover in reality.

It was the worst shoot out on AMC since the National Guard dudes were taken out on The Walking Dead.

Lead will not pass through and through a couple inches of steel. It won't happen. Deal with it.

Argue about something else.

Yeah but theres really no realistic way that they both aren't shredded in the first 20 seconds of next week's show.

Walt has really lost his "edge"

He's no Gus, that's for sure

The engine block will stop pretty much any sort of normal rifle round. The issue isn't once they got to cover, its that a squad of blind men would have killed them almost instantly with that kind of firepower.

Watch it again. They are not in the open but for a second and even when they are in the open most of the shooters did not have clean shots as the car was canted. I was happy with it and hank and Gomez are going to get flanked and killed anyway next week.

Well, Gus was probably one of the best tv villains ever.

Interesting. Not enough to make Walt want revenge, but something has to make him come back with a machine gun.

Thanks for posting that link. That is a great scene. I need to rewatch Pulp Fiction from beginning to end, soon.

Are you seriously trying to convince all of us that a standard rifle round is going to do significant damage when it impacts several inches of steel?

Seriously? Have you shot a gone at something other than a paper target?

No but if you read my post correctly, I was pointing out that a SINGLE shot can CRACK an engine block. That kind of firepower they had would have turned that engine block into swiss cheese, not exactly something that would protect them from that barrage.
