I'm gonna have to watch it again to try and figure things out.A lot going on in this episode. The back story by the pool was mind blowing.Gus was pissing himself when they were holding him down next to his dead brother. And the bell ringer pissing in the pool at the start of the scene.Maybe the best episode ever.

Really was in so many ways. I guess Gale was another one of Gus's understudies. And just what does Gus see in Jesse.
Speaking of Jesse, I don't want to tell him how to spend his money, but if it were me, I'd be tossing some of my interests this girl's way. I hope she comes back soon.

so what was the point of Gustavo visiting the old man at the rest home again? he is calling shots in the cartel?
Posted on 9/5/11 at 8:56 am to Maximus
I don't know why he keeps visiting Hector. He asked him if it was today. Is Gus taunting Hector, like Hector did to him poolside. Is he just heckling him, because Hector is really pissed each time. I don't know, was "today" like taunting him about dying? That one I don't get, but from past episodes it seems that Hector still does have some place in the cartel.
And who is this Gus guy, a former general or maybe an interrogator for the Chilian Army or rebels?

so do we still not know who tipped hank off at the parking lot?

Do we know how Hector lost his ability to speak? And why he's on a breathing tube?
I wonder if Gus did something to him and visits him every now and then to ask him to look at his face.
Also, Gus being part of the Chilean army would explain how he was able to violently kill that guy with the box cutter without the slightest bit of remorse.

Such great character development. Earlier in the season, Gus was nowhere to be seen for a couple of episodes, now he is so intriguing.
Same goes for Hank. I went from being against him, to sort of rooting for his character when he met with the brass with his investigation and tossed in Gus’s print at the crime scene.
Skyler, what a whore. Putting the money in the clothes bags and then the whole thing comes crumbling down on her.
It then goes from a 3 stooges type thing to something very haunting when the money is shown under the house in the crawlspace, then it cuts to Hank sitting right above it at Walt and Skyler’s kitchen table as they entertain him and his wife for dinner. Hank is looking very smart, but this quick scene is tossed in there…

where/when did they say something about Gus in the military or whatever?
Posted on 9/5/11 at 11:09 am to Maximus
I can't remember it in any of the previous seasons. I just thought of the two scenarios about the army or maybe some sort of rebels, or maybe he had a family member in the cartel, don't know, I'm just guessing, but I may have missed something.
The reason I'm wondering is because of the flashback when Hector told him facedown at the pool the only reason he wasn't going to kill Gus was because he knew who he was...

Good story. And before this season is done I bet Dean Norris as Hank Schrader is up there with the trio because he's sure to have some more scenes up there with the bombshell scene with the brass and the prints last week.

This month at the Emmys, Breaking Bad is going to step aside and make some room for other dramas at the acting-categories podiums, because it didn't air a season during the eligibility period. But next time around it's not just Bryan Cranston and Aaron Paul the competition needs to sweat: from what we saw in "Hermanos," I'm thinking a group of fellow nominees may be politely applauding for Giancarlo Esposito next year. Esposito has always been an example of the show's acting bench—we have Emmy winners Cranston and Paul, and oh yeah, we just happen to have freaking Giancarlo Esposito backing them up, like it's not even a thing—but "Hermanos" was his tour de force, an episode that peeled some layers off Gustavo Fring, painted some more coats of mystery on and took him through a more dynamic emotional range than we've ever seen.

quote:it was Gus, he said so while taunting Hector. Then he went on further to tell Hector about the sting operation he put in motion(by ratting out there hideout to DEA agents I believe) that killed members of the Cartel in last seasons episode.
so do we still not know who tipped hank off in the park lot?
and I take him sayin "is today the day Hector" as him meaning are you ready to die Hector. He despises Hector as much as Hector despises him, he knows Hector is racist and hates him because he's black. So he gets his rocks off by taunting him. I may be reaching I dunno, but I know from living in Texas that mexicans don't like blacks, and I was surprised when they shot the other guy, but we wouldn't have Gus if they shot him.

I think Hanks partners are on the take. At least a couple of them. They are so quick to dismiss Hank. Oh and that poolside scene was the best of the season. Was just waiting for his friend to get capped. And nice cameo from the guy in Scarface. Im sure we will see him again.

He'll be back in Ep 10 Salud.
Ted will be back in Ep 11 Crawl Space. (Actually maybe before this episode)

That's a possibility. They did doubt him a lot quickly, especially with Hank limping in there and all during the evidence scene last week, think they'd just throw him a bone. And they did it again after they brought Gus in for questioning.
And Mike does seem to have an insider because he knew the story of what was going down at headquarters when he called Gus to tell him only Hank is playing Lone Ranger.

I still say Ted and Beneke Fabricators are going to figure into Skyler's money laundering plans, and don't believe Ted was doctoring invoices to keep his company afloat. He's not this "nice man" we have been lead to believe.

His Boyfriend was killed in front of him many years before this.... after that i presume he went off the deep end and didnt care who got in his way.

also, could Gus be looking for the old guy to:
apologize?
beg for forgiveness?
beg for mercy?
just to look at him?
to speak again?
to die?
