ditto. it's interesting that so many people have 5b rated #1, in a thread a few months ago almost everybody had season 4 as the best.

Jesse ( he went from potentially one of the best characters ever on television maybe ever, to a caricature)

what? the dude was a caricature the whole time. and to call him potentially the greatest television character of all time is a huuuuge stretch.

4 - best season of television I've ever seen
5B - ozymandius and felina alone puts this at the top

Naaa, he was more than that for a couple of seasons.

You're right, that's a huge stretch. That isn't remotely what I said. I said:

one of the best

and

potentially

Potentially means, maybe with a vastly changed character arc and conclusion, as in the last 2 and a half seasons or so, yeah he could have been an all-time great. As in a Top 50 character, one of the best. That isn't a stretch. Jesse was always more interesting than Walt, imo.

He's far, far from that. Sadly, imo.

Honestly, this is fairly pointless. Without season 1 there is no 5B. In this short attention span era people want continuous action. What made Breaking Bad great was that it had characters and that took development. I can't think of the show in terms of "seasons". It was simply a linear story and more consistent than any show I've ever seen.

Ozymandias and the following episodes almost puts season 5 in the top spot, but season 4 as a whole is amazing, captivating television.

Like some have said, Gus & Mike elevate my top 3 here....was a big fan of the cousins + the plane crash foreshadowing, so I've got 2 and 3 higher than a lot of you

1 is the only season I can't really watch repeatedly....its good, just not like the others

even calling him potentially one of the best is still a huge stretch.

Show was so good because it kept getting crazier and better. Season 5 was amazing but the last few episodes of season 4 put it ahead for me...maybe the best run in tv history
