Bonnie and Clyde (1967) is nearly ruined by the poorly written Blanche character

The real life Blanche Barrow was still alive in 1967 and said that the "film made me look like a screaming horse's arse!"
She was right.
She was right.

maybe she WAS a screaming horses arse - she'd be the last one to have any objectivity about it, so her objection is hardly credible

Her most famous photo is of her screaming like a horse's arse, so I can see them showcasing that aspect of her.
All five of the main cast were nominated for Oscars. Estelle "Blanche Barrow" Parsons was the only one to take home the award.

Maybe if I watched the movie in 1967, I'd feel different.
I dunno, Faye Dunaway did a good job with her character's annoyance at Blanche. I was really feeling those emotions.

I always thought that there was something savagely sexy about the real Blanche, particularly in her mugshot.

Bonnie Parker stood 4'11 and weighed 90 pounds. Clyde Barrow’s height is often debated but is usually said to be between 5'4 and 5'6.
They must have been quite the sight toting around those rifles.

I'd bet she had a problem with 40 year old and pudgy Estelle Parsons playing her as her 22 tiny self.

People were so small back then. The heavyweight champ that year was Primo Carnera, who was 6'6" and 275#. He must've seemed like a giant to those Depression Era waifs.

Faye Dunaway in that movie - did anything else even matter??

I feel like the Kevin Costner movie did a real good job of shattering the Bonnie and Clyde myth. They were blood thirsty murderers who delighted in executing police officers when the chance arrived. They both got what they deserved.

Yeah, the whole Hamer getting caught and humiliated scene was hilarious. I was so confused when watching that I went straight to Wiki to make sure I wasn't going crazy.

The best thing they did was to omit any visuals of Bonnie and Clyde from the film. There's no way you can pull for them, because you only see the crimes and murders and their aftermath.

To be fair, that photo was taken when they had just had a shootout and her husband Buck was killed. You can't see him in the picture, but his body was nearby. I can understand her screaming at a time like that.

Man that 22 looks more like 40.

Food was everything during the depression. I have heard stories of people walking along a ditch just hoping to spot a crawfish. But then, Bonnie and Clyde died in 1934. Depression started in 1929. I don't think a lot of people know how good we have it and may not realize how quickly things can go wrong and we are right back to the 1920-30s.

My paternal Grandfather knew Clyde Barrow.
