Cedric from Kings of Comedy. That whole bit was excellent. Didn't have to be over the top vulgar for people to think it was funny.

Artie Lange - Jack and Coke is probably my favorite. Lewis Black is up there also.

If you thought Raw was funny, you need to watch Delirious. That one is so much better.
Definitely.
Also, Richard Pryor in New Orleans just after his Sunset Strip show. He was setting the bar and trend for comics to this VERY day.
Richard Pryor Here and Now
Love that first George Carlin HBO show. Not sure of name of it.
Those three guys are the Elvis, Stones, Beatles of comedy. Everyone today gives props to them and what they did for the profession.

In person? Eddie Izzard.
Special? George Carlin's 1991 HBO special is near perfection. He was in his angry phase, but still funny.

Completley agree. Eddie Izzard can do a show in 3 languages and you would still laugh.

I'll add Kings of Comedy (even though DL Hugely wasn't that funny) and The Blue Collar Comedy Tour. Yes, I watch them every time they come on.

I'm assuming this was for acts you've actually seen in person?

Nah, those are the real names of two of the worst fraud comics that are popular today.

sorry, that wasn't directed at you as much as it was just a general question.
FWIW, the 3 I listed I have actually seen in person.

Maybe not the best, but watch the first 10 minutes of George Carlin "You are all Diseased." It was filmed two years before 9/11 - it will blow your mind.
