Christmas Vacation is by far the best Christmas movie ever made. And it's possibly the only Christmas movie that never reaches Christmas Day.
I agree with the first part 100%, but when I got to thinking about it, there are more Christmas movies that don't show Christmas Day, which I think is interesting. The ones O could think of were:
Christmas Vacation
White Christmas
Elf
Jingle All The Way
I haven't watched a Christmas movie since last December, so I could be wrong about those, but I'm pretty sure they all either end on Christmas Eve, or skip over it.

Finally someone with some sense in this thread. Only took a page and a half.
Not that I consider IAWL a straight up Christmas movie.
It's actually a very dark study of depression and pressure that is perhaps the best drama ever written that just so happens to take place around Christmas.
He runs in the snow yelling Merry Christmas at the end and they sing Auld Lang Syne so NBC decided to play it every year at Christmas, so now half of the population has never actually watched it but just kind of has it on in the background at Holiday gatherings for as long as they can remember so they think they know exactly what it is.
If people were never exposed to IAWL until they were in college, sat down and watched the whole DVD, with no commercials, I truly believe it would be in almost every top 5 list.
