40 is still old to me....
I mean next line of good/great actors would be under 30 to me....
Out of the 76 actors who have won the Best Actor Oscar, 31 of them were under 40 years old. I agree that 40 is a pretty old cut-off point to be considered an up-and-coming actor. I would say 35 would be a better cut-off point. Most great actors usually have broken through by that age. The ones who haven't are usually great character actors and not leading men. Humphrey Bogart and Spencer Tracy are the only Hollywood actors that I can think of who became stars after turning 35.

Paul Dano
Was 2 years ahead of me in high school. I think I've mentioned it before but he killed it at the senior show, obviously.
I remember seeing him in a role on Sopranos (episode where the son does a bunch of drugs and someone od's I think, don't know didn't watch the whole series) and yelling out "He goes to my high school" . Definitely attended a couple parties he was at.

LINK Pretty sure he sang some Pink Floyd songs with that band. Don't know, that was over about a decade ago now.
