Second City, c. 1966
Steinberg (an infamous upstager at SC, but that's another story; he also got the Smothers Bros cancelled, which is yet another story) was relentlessly pushed by the networks in the '70s but never really got accepted as a star by the mass audience. His performing career pretty much ended w/the decade.
Klein, one of the GOAT standups, never became as big a star as he should have. Supposedly he turned down the role of Trapper on MASH b/c he didn't want to move to Hollywood.

It was messed up how Stringbean and his wife were killed in their home robbery attempt.
One robber died in prison and the other was eventually paroled a few decades later.
