Just saw it. Pretty decent until the battleship part, which was supermuthafrickinshittyassretarded.

Actually it was alright. A little out there near the end but hey its a sci fi movie.

They're not gonna sink this battleship!
Corny as hell, but I was entertained.

This. I went to the 6pm show tonight. It was very corny, but like you said, it was still entertaining.

Just got back from seeing the movie and all I have to say is it is one of the most awesome movies I have seen in a long time. It isn't often when people "clap" at the end of the movie. They did tonight. I can recall only when episodes 4-6 of Star Wars did they clap at the end. It really was a badass movie. As a matter of fact when we left the theatre tonight I told my wife that the director of Transformers should take a lesson from this guy on how to make a movie

Since you are right there on Riverside where did you go see it? Tinseltown, Parkplace or Malco?

Might want to pump the breaks on that praise a little. It was good for what it was, but nothing spectacular.

I slept through Transformers II and flat walked out of Transformers III because I couldn't take the insult to my mind that the movie was giving me. Battleship kept me entertained the whole time. Other than thinking that was Bo Jackson with fake legs I wasn't disappointed about anything with this movie
ETA: It was no "Notebook" for you movie snobs, but for shear entertainment it was priceless. It was also a HUGE plug for the United States Navy. They actually used real naval personnel in the fimling of the movie. And real navy vets from WWII.

People that would pay money and were that anxious to see Battleship on opening weekend are idiots. Of course they'd be "entertained".

Yes, I am ashamed to say I went and paid money to see that garbage.

Forget Taylor Kitsch, isn't Landry from FNL also in this movie??
Posted on 5/19/12 at 6:51 am to REG861
Yeap landry is the spotter on the john paul jones at first then he takes the helmmans spot later on. I see some FNL alums are turning their tv fame into some movie roles.
Like i said before entertaining, not oscar worthy but okay never the less.
SPOILERS BELOW!!!!!!!!!!
A few weeks back a poster on here made fun wondering if they would revive the Missouri as the battleship for the movie
Nice how they incorporated the boardgame into the movie while fighting the first two alien ships

I actually think I will enjoy this one. I don't expect it to be great at all, but I think it'll be good enough (plot wise) and lots of shite will explode. Typical mindless summer blockbuster fare.

I thought the movie was decent, the acting wasn't great but anytime you get to see Brooklyn Decker's boobs bounce around it's worth 6 bucks. Good summer popcorn flick.
Oh, and the best clap in the theater was when they loaded up the Missouri and the old man cryed "lets sling some lead on these mother" BOOM!!!! Fun

it was pretty much what i thought it would be. total cgi pornfest with cheesy acting.
i def could have used more liam neeson in this one though.
