I think a lot of our predictions in this thread are a little on the optomistic side. With the book titled Winds of WInter, I'm sure it'll continue to be dark. Maybe towards the end of this one and into the next one we'll see a few peaks of optimisim but I think Martin will not suddenly turn things rosy.

He has said the ending will be bittersweet. My thoughts on that are Jon dies beating the others, Ramsey Bolton rules the North, Tyrion dies, and Dany takes the crown, but loses a few dragons.

Also, every character you don't hate dies, and every other character you do hate is prosperous. Like Littlefinger.

He's going to die again?

LF is an sob but I wouldn't necessarily put him on top of the hate dept... Cersei, Freys, and Boltons definitely lead the way though.

I can imagine winds of winter will have its doom and gloom but I can see some Starks thriving potentially in these conditions...

He's not dead. You can't die again if you have never died.

quote:

ENTERTAINMENT WEEKLY: So why did you kill Jon Snow?
GEORGE R.R. MARTIN: Oh, you think he’s dead, do you?

And I was apparently too dense to realize that the bard in Winterfell helping Theon was Mance.
