I could see Thea also dying, but then again they probably want to play out the Merlin storyline before she is ever in any real danger of dying. But I could see her abduction by Deathstroke really messing her up mentally/emotionally though.
Moira seems to be somewhat played out. I could see her dying by the end of the season.

thea is an interesing character to wonder about. we have all guessed at most of the characters' futures except hers.
what could her future role be? when the Merlin stuff shakes out, is she the villain thats close to Ollie that we except to see? if she learns that oliver is the reason Roy left her, does she build resentment and go down that darker path?

Here's the thing regarding Moria and Thea:
In the comics, Oliver Queen is orphaned.
Also in the comics, "Speedy" doesn't just refer to Roy Harper. Speedy is also Mia Dearden, a teenage ward of Oliver Queen.
As they've already taken liberties with the Canary being Sara Lance instead of Dinah (Laurel) Lance, I don't see why they couldn't make Thea Speedy, especially since Thea's full name is Thea DEARDEN Queen.

that was my thought during season 1. but now that the show has progressed this far, i really dont want to see that.
so oliver would have 2 sidekicks (roy and thea) and 3 partners (diggle, felicity, black canary)? just seems like way too much. his team might already be too big as Roy has barely been used.

If they introduce Connor Hawke, the team will be complete. The only other character Oliver truly partnered with was Hal Jordan.

im a fan of the smaller the team the better. connor would be interesting to see how they do that in this world. same goes for Hal.
we know nightwing is in the next season (possibly later this season) so that will be pretty cool to see.

I have no idea who is who as far as the comics go. I knew Slade was Deathstroke and I knew Black Canary was Dinah (smallville), but I have no idea who some of these others are. A nice little walk through a comic discussion wouldn't bother me.

Good catch. I must've missed that that was her middle name.
I could see a scenario where Roy gets pissed at Oliver, and leaves out to fight crime on his own as Arsenal (not unlike the Roy of the comics), and then Oliver starts training Thea.
I could also see a scenario where after she is kidnapped by Slade, she comes out of it somewhat psychologically damaged. Then she finds out she is Malcolm's daughter and ends up running off with him. She eventually comes back to Oliver already trained by Malcolm and becomes his sidekick/partner as Speedy.

Wow that is a crazy catch. So we have said laurel could go bad before going good. Now Thea.
Someone will go bad damn it!

This. One thing I enjoy about this thread is the insight the comic readers bring. I know jack and shite about comics. It's nice to learn about the things that would go unappreciated by me without the assistance of the ones with comic knowledge.

My prediction for the rest of the season.
I think Thea finds out Oliver's true identity tonight and reacts negatively to it. She survives season two, finds out that Malcolm Merlyn is her real dad, and just goes ape shite because everyone has been lying to her and she can trust no one. Moira Queen dies and Oliver and Thea are officially orphaned. In swoops Malcolm Merlyn to Thea's rescue. Who knows where her character goes from there?
Laurel also finds out Oliver's secret as well as her sister and reacts the opposite way from Thea. Sara dies in the final battle, Laurel is inspired by her sister, and sets up for her transformation into the Black Canary (which probably will happen at the end of season three).

It bugs me that Laurel has no training yet she'll be thrust into a super hero role.

She held her own in the first season in most of the scuffles she found herself in. Her father made her take a bunch of self-defense classes as she put it.
I highly doubt Laurel will become Black Canary straight away if that's the route they take. Her evolution would have to last at least the entire third season.

I think laurel would somehow blame Oliver for Tommy's murder. Even though it's his dad's fault

I really hope this doesn't happen.. It's just too hokey imo and I like her better as a Lois Lane type civilian that can handle her own on a limited basis.

But Laurel Lance is *the* Black Canary in the comics.
