You know “The Little Mermaid” has good music and characters, but its main character is just the worst. Really think about how self centered this stupid bitch is. Her father puts forth a full concert just to celebrate her and her narcissism: well it’s not good enough for Ariel. She doesn’t show up. Seriously, think about all the people who came to show up for her and the people her father had to hire and work hard for this. No fricks given by Ariel. Instead she thinks it’s a better idea to put her best friend in mortal peril and to leave Sebastian with his dick in his hands not knowing what to do.

And then she sees this one dude and all of the sudden she thinks it’s ok to sacrifice herself, her family, and really all of society for the sake of a hunk of man meat she’s never met. Really she sells her soul to Satan for this dumb shite. If you can make this into a movie, you might as well make one where a sixteen year old who faps to Kate Upton sells his soul to Satan for an opportunity to frick her. This wouldn’t work the other way around I don’t think.

And then finally Ariel is too fricking stupid to write down on a piece of paper what is going on. You may say that perhaps she can’t read or write, but that’s not true since she read and signed Ursula’s contract. She’s just dumb as shite. Thank God there was Belle as a follow-up who thought shite through, but Ariel fully deserved to join Ursula’s garden. Instead she gets reinforced that she was right to be a stupid slut who doesn’t think through her actions at all. There’s no reason to think Eric wasn’t a Gaston.

Call in sick tomorrow. As for tonight, go out get blackout drunk, smoke some weed do some coke whatever you gotta do, and wake up next to a chick you’ve never seen before. You need it.

Well since I’ve had two people call me out, I guess January is an appropriate answer for that.

You seem to know how to fix everything except yourself.

Ariel is like a real woman. Women arent rational

The Little Mermaid wouldnt get made today and if it was Ariel would be intelligent and empowered which isnt realistic

Well, it is getting made today. I believe Rebel Wilson is playing Ursula. But, yeah I agree, they’re going to have to correct this.

Carry on then.

Yes, she was impetuous, selfish, and lacking in maturity and forethought. She is an emotional teenage girl who acts on feeling. Yet she has a good heart, I think. She made some mistakes. Hopefully she matured with age. She may have a daughter giving her hell now like she gave her father. I always considered him a reasonable merman.

The fact that you have to follow it up with “I think” proves my point. I mean really, tell me one action Ariel does that isn’t totally selfish. I don’t think you’d struggle with that question if I said Belle or Anna.

Disney just did what Disney does best. They took and old story, either bought the rights or it was a public domain, dumbed it down and stripped it's main elements and the sold it as a Disney original to kids and aggressively sued and punished anyone who tried to use or remake these old stories they stole for themselves

You should read the real story about the little mermaid. Like the part where the guy finds her on the beach after her tail is split and she's covered in blood and can't walk and he laughs at her and then mocks her.

I have. I wish that was the end of this movie.

I said she was selfish.

But she was also kind, expressed remorse and regret, and clearly loved her father and Eric.

She’s not my favorite Disney woman. Definitely prefer Belle and others.

I think you’re mistaking kind with charming. I don’t think she does a single kind act in the film. But she’s definitely charming.

I disagree with this. She was infatuated with Eric, but what the frick did she know about him? He could be Gaston or a brutal wife beater behind closed doors.

And what did Ariel do to prove she loved her father? She didn’t give enough of a frick about him to show up for his celebration of her. Triton has the best arc of the movie and clearly loves his daughter, I’m not sure if it’s reciprocated. She’s a manipulative bitch.

To be fair (the animated one at least) is smart by not saying how long they’re together. I choose to think at least 3 months.

I’m not a big fan of Frozen but I think it’s nice how they deliberately make fun of the trope of the “princess” falling in love with the “prince.”

On the other hand that’s probably more due to its theme of empowering women instead.

You need to cool it with these dumbfounding, insidious remarks at once.
