Anyone see Mr. Jones (2019)?

Thought this was an excellent movie. Was surprised to see it produced in this day and age, given how left wing Hollywood is now.
It does an excellent job depicting a true story of a British journalist that uncovers the Stalinist forced famines in the Ukraine in the early 1930s, which murdered millions of innocent civilians. It also deals with Walter Duranty, the notorious Soviet collaborator with the New York Times, and Jones' contemporary George Orwell.
Not the most cheerful movie but definitely worth a watch.

I had a thread on this a couple of months ago. Big takeaway is the NYT has been fake news since the 1930s. The movie is a bit choppy but it’s pretty enjoyable.
ETA: the Pulitzer board had the opportunity to rescind Duranty’s award he won through outright lying to the American public and declined to do so. No one protects their own like journos.

It's pretty sad because they ran interference for the genocide of millions of innocent people. Many literally turned to cannibalizing their dead family members. That paper does not deserve to be in existence.

Just to be clear. You are alleging that Donald trump is committing more humanitarian violations than Stalinist russia and more evil specifically than the force starvation of millions and that Fox News is covering that up?

Locking kids in cages just as his predecessor did where they were provided food water medical care and vaccinations because they came here illegally and couldn’t provide documentation of their families is equivalent to starving and killing millions.

Watched it and was poignant on a lot of things. Media parroting the “paper of record” NYT that was printing communist propaganda. Lloyd George in Britain telling him he couldn’t go forward on the story because they needed Stalin and ussr for Britain’s economy. The latter seems very similar to our dependence on China and the media/Hollywood/nba altering content to suit the CCPs whims

It debuted in Berlin in February 2019. It didn’t even get picked up by a US distributor until August and it’s a small art house distributor. I hadn’t even heard of it until your post.
