Finally caught it on Netflix and enjoyed it. I guess having low expectations helped but it wasn't nearly as bad as I expected based on some reviews I read.

Absolutely.

It's one of the most fun movies from the past couple of years.

I haven't read many real reviews, but I thought everyone liked this movie. It was as fun as any movie I've seen in recent years.

It was a pretty popular movie, had a 76 on rottentomatoes. Silicon appears to be out of touch with reality quite frequently on here.

76 on RT usually turns out to be a hit or a miss. Are you the guy I beat up on OT about amazon starting salaries and proved you wrong/a liar? Might have been you - and hence the bitterness.

It's rated a 7.9/10 on IMDB, it didn't do well at the box office but it's highly rated most everywhere.

Yes, it didn't do so well at the box office which is a pretty big part of the feedback wouldn't you say? Great movie, I didn't expect it to be as good with some of the mixed reviews out there. Some of the RT reviews were pretty scathing, and certainly not justified.

So many people that post on this board gave it positive reviews I was convinced I needed to watch it. I really enjoyed it too. It was a fun movie.

Thanks, Guys!

Lots of good stuff on Netflix (movies, shows, documentaries) that this board recommended.

The only reason I watched it is this board recommended it.

Ticket sales generally correlate to how entertaining a movie is. There are exceptions - pleasant ones such as kickass.

So ticket sales have nothing to do with how good or bad a movie is? There's no correlation whatsoever?

Yeah, Twilight and Transformers were that good.

Yeah, contraband is going to be great because it bombed at the box office.

Box office dollars may not always correlate 100% to how good a movie is but they do a lot of the time. Most bad movies bomb at the box office. The outliers are movies that target specific segments - twilight, transformers or movies that probably didn't get marketed well enough/to the right segment.

If you keep insulting me, then editing your posts, it's going to be tougher to talk about this.

Isn't the average movie goer constantly derided on this board?
