Alright so the title is a joke. Of course you've heard of it. I watched it this past weekend for the first time probably in 10+ years. Still enjoyed it and it is dead on as far as fitting in as a 2000s comedy/kid movie.

I did enjoy thinking about if this happened today I'm pretty sure people would serve hard time and absolutely be fired . I'm sure firings would have happened back in 2003 as well but people are so wound up today especially as it relates to things being taught or not taught in school I cannot imagine the explosion that would have come from those parents having their kids basically have lost a month of actual education .

Great movie though but I can see other parts where it was a little dated. I wish we could have more fun and unique movies like this again rather than have them slip through the cracks between massive franchises like they do now.

Watched it a few months back for the first time in probably 15 years. It's aged really well...honestly I may have like it more after viewing it today then I did in 2003, and I loved it then too.

Hey, just an fyi, but this topic was discussed about a week ago. It’s a great topic, and I don’t want to rain on your parade, but just know that you might not get as many responses as you normally would for such a topic.

All posters agreed that the movie is great, that Jack Black was perfect for the role, that the manager girl is now an adult and very good looking, the music was awesome, that Sarah Silverman played the best bitchy girlfriend ever, and that all the elements just worked great.

I expected it to age a lot more poorly than it did. They did a good job making it. Also makes me think maybe we peaked in the 2000s in terms of everybody being less tribal and just able to get along. I can't imagine that movie being made today and just focusing on the music and the kids overcoming communal things like parental stress and shyness and bullies.

Oops. I've been neglecting the MTV board apparently. Netflix must have boosted this thing in its algorithms

Up there with Eurotrip as my favorite movie of the jr. high years. I feel like there is an actual School of Rock near Jay's BBQ on Sherwood.

It’s only slightly less creepy than the teacher taking the kid to the art museum without notifying his parents in Bridge to Terabithia.

He sounds like with his songs, the legend of the rent, he would've fought to be in Jethro Tull. All his riffs sound like Jethro Tull.

Only that kid's song is different.

Yeah he’s definitely serving some time if that actually happened today. No doubt about it
