also, using the "yeah well you're a homophobe" argument is just as stupid as calling someone a racist. It's an easy accusation and if the person denies it then they look even more like one.

It is a terribly weak and cowardly argument.

Not that I'm knocking Adam. The guy really can sing, nobody can deny that. But I'm baffled as to why people think he is so brilliant. Is it because the talent level is so bad this year? Being the prettiest girl (no pun intended) in a room full of fat chicks doesn't make you a super model. This contest is basically a three way show. Danny, Allison, and Adam are Thoroughbred's in a pasture full of Mules. To say Danny or Allison is out of Adams leauge is a huge stretch. He's something that AI fans have never seen before, he's differant, but not the best by any stretch.

Fine...there's a lot of close minded backwoods hicks in this thread. I guess that's better than being a homophobe.

I was just thinking this while reading. Some folks need to get out of the south for a little while

Well this certainly sounds like someone with an open mind.

quote:

There's plenty wrong with that. It's not homophobia, it's not hate, it's opinion. In a silent majority of people's opinions, there is something wrong with a boy who likes to dress up like girls and kiss other boys. It's not natural. And all this "it's 2009, get over it" talk is bullshite. I don't have to get over the fact that I don't like flamers.

Its one thing to be gay, its another thing to be so outlandish that you intentionally make other people uncomfortable. And if my son were gay, i'd tell him "that's cool, just don't be parade gay. Don't flaunt it just to make others uncomfortable. Make sure your boyfriend doesn't either. There are plenty of gays out there that blend in and are normal parts of society."

What's wrong with that line of thought?

frick Adam Lambert.

What's wrong with people not liking somebody for being Rainbow Bright Gay? Why does a gay man have to act so girly in order to be a homosexual? Why is it a man can be gay all of his life and talk normal. But the instant he comes out of the closet, his voice drops to the level of a 13 year old girl.

Likely b/c they fear ridicule from closed minded backwoods hick people when they are younger and confused about shite........Then they get older and find people similar to them and are more comfortable.

They just want acceptance like stright people do.

Now I have to ask the question...Are you gay? I'm not judging, nor do I care. But you still didn't answer my previous question. And if you are gay, it shouldn't be so hard to answer. Why do gay men have to be prissy in order to prove they are gay and proud?

No, but my brother is.

I couldn't answer that. My brother isn't like the gay person you are describing. I'd assume that for many of them the stereotype feeds this. They think that gay men are like that and in order to fit in they have to act in a certain manner. The same thing happens in any groups with stereotypes. I knew a guy in high school. He was as emo as they came. Then he went to LSU and joined a frat (I know...wtf). From then on out he was the ultimate frat daddy with the Polos, costas, sperry's, and frat straps.

So it was more ok back then when society was tougher on gays than now?

even a single in the last 10 years that is that flamboyantly gay???

Any EMO band. Panic at the Disco, Fall out boy, Chemical Romance, etc. That's all the flamboyancy you need.

Just jumping in at the end as someone who doesn't like Adam.

I don't have a problem with someone being gay. Couldn't care less. And I don't want to see two guys making out anymore than I want to see a guy and girl in public. The flamers are annoying, but I don't obsess about it. Live your life.

My biggest problem with Adam has nothing to do with him. My problem seems to come from his fans that can't understand why I don't like him. It can't simply be that I'm not into his style or that I don't feel any connection to his music. It must be because I can't accept people that are different. Saying I'm not capable of judging what I like pisses me off and I start directing more hate (too strong of a word) towards Adam.

Did you hate Johnny Cash when he completely redid "Hurt?" You know, that song by Trent Reznor, who happens to be very similar in style to Adam.

Because if you didn't then you're an enourmous hypocrit.

FWIW, I think Cash would have like Adam's version. Cash was a strange dude in his own right. He was awesome though.

I think this is all based on opinions. But to answer your question, Allison. Something that young with that kind of voice doesn't come around often.

I definitely think Alison is awesome.

Vocal Ability:

1. Adam
2. Alison
3. Lil (this is just on pure vocal ability)
4. Danny
5. Matt
6. Kris
7. Anoop

As far as overall musical talent:

1. Kris
2. Matt
3. Adam
4. Danny
5. Alison
T6. Lil'
T6. Anoop

Dave Worth, I'm kinda like you. I don't really caer for Adam that much either btu I can see how he would be huge as a pop artist. And nobody has that presence like him right now. IMO of course.

I liked that young girl from memphis. She was more my style.

So I have to hate every song that is redone b/c Adam sucked cock trying to take on Ring of Fire? 90% of America likely thought it was pretty bad. The judges who Adam has in his back pocket even struggled to feed him anything complimentary.

Johnny Cash's version of Hurt was fine as was the NIN version.

Adam wishes he could come close to Trent's talent level. It is likely a pipe dream.

I don't really think they're dressing up as girls on stage and making out with guys. Sorry, you failed that question.
