Just another dork whose stupid theories didn't pan out.

He was going to be unemployed soon anyway. No one gives a shite about his other videos.

I prefer the dumb and dumber video guy for GoT.

Ozzyman does it best but he’s too easy on D&D.

His Westworld videos were spot on. Maybe that is still ongoing, but they've sort of forgotten the "West" part of Westworld.

People don't mind having their expectations subverted or being surprised by events they thought would go another way. Hence general audience reactions to events such as Ned Stark's execution and the Red Wedding. Those of us who had never read the books were blown away and entertained by these sudden change of events, but we didn't get angry in the aftermath because we understood what happened within the context of the story. The characters' actions led them to those terrible ends. There was a logical flow from point A to point B to point C...all the way to point Z. In other words, the characters drove the direction in which the story moved in those early seasons.

The negative reaction to season eight has less to do about theories being proven incorrect and more to do with sloppy and rushed writing leading us to the conclusions of these story and character arcs. To put it in simple terms, the characters stopped determining the direction in which the story would go and thus the plot started to drive the characters' actions. Instead of slowly building Dany into the Mad Queen, they completed that arc within an episode and a half and used foreshadowing instead of character development to pull it off.

The Night King arc was rushed, the Mad Queen arc was rushed, and it looks like they're going to really rush us to the ultimate conclusion to the series - all because D&D wanted to leave this universe behind for the more lucrative universe of motion pictures and Star Wars.
