Just a great movie. So clever. A bit dated looking but I appreciated it. It’s like the last movie to use film.
Streep was awesome. Double cage, maybe his best. Someone do a cage Rushmore.
Chris cooper is a bad arse who plays Floridian to perfection.
The self doubt. The twist. It’s great. GN

GOAT Nic Cage movie that doesn't involve putting the bunny back in the box

One of my favorite movies. Sheer brilliance when the brother takes over the script and it gets campy as hell.

Also maybe one of the GOAT Florida Man depictions on screen.

It's definitely my favorite, probably one of my favorite characters of all time.

adaptation and sideways are two of my favorite movies of all time. both very similar with the self deprecating humor.

I wasn’t saying that as a factual stmt. that was more in reference to the aged look of the movie. The timing is on the cusp of the digital takeover in film and music.

absolutely brilliant and underrated. Cage during an impressive run: Adaptation, Matchstick Men, National Treasure (ok this one doesn't fit), Lord Of War, and The Weather Man.

Cage Rushmore: Raising Arizona, Wild At Heart, Adaptation, Moonstruck.

Also ties into one of my other favorites from Charlie Kaufman (who Cage plays here):

Kaufman had a hell of a run with BJM, Adaptation and Eternal Sunshine back to back to back. Amazing, honestly.

By the time he got to Synecdoche, New York he went too far up his own butthole for his own good IMO. The first three do a good job of towing that line without falling off the deep end, but he needed someone to reign him in for that one.
