It is. I don't know if it was a blooper they left in because he says it so perfectly. It shows how flustered Bill is by the whole thing.

I dont know why a porn producer just doesn't find his own side piece too. But that's neither here nor there.

Love John C. Riley in this. At the beginning when he and Dirk meet he is basically doing his Talladega Nights character. He just didn't know it yet.

OP.

Not watching this movie is like trying to talk about great 90's films and taking Tom Hanks off the table.

That's a little dramatic but you get the gist.

It's amazing how that scene captures the anxiety of being up all night doing cocaine, and projects that anxiety onto the viewer.

Thought they had moved on to meth by that time because Coke was too expensive in the amounts they needed.

fricking Todd.

I'm not queer or nothin', but Depeche Mode is a sweet band.

Wait. That might be the wrong movie.

Wrong. Boogie Nights probably wraps up in 1983ish.

Are these porn spoofs?

If not I will have to add them to my "shite to watch" list.

No, it's The Parker and Stone classic, Orgazmo.

Here's the opening theme. Brace yourself. It's the greatest thing you will see all year.

Now you're a man.

You may be right. I haven't watched it in several years. Just remember relating to that anxiety from having stayed up all night doing coke and just wanting to go to bed but you can't either because you're too coked up, or someone else is and won't leave your house.

Great movie. My old lady enjoys it when I quote some Dirk Diggler in the boudoir (paraphrasing):

"It's my big dick and I say when we roll. You know what? I want to frick! It's my big dick! So, get ready frickin' NOW!"

She loves that shite! (not really)

That's what's so great about this character. He should be an accountant or something. But somehow, in the past, he got wrapped up on producing porn. He wants a normal life, and a normal marriage, but his porn star wife constantly cheats on him, "Keep going, stud."

Even the scene where *spoilers*

he kills his wife, and then himself. When he gets the gun out of his car, he takes the time to lock the car afterwards. Who does that? Its supposed to be this crime of passion, heat of the moment type murder, yet he closes the door to the car, takes the key and locks the door. That's the type of dude he is.

That was a great scene, and I do remember him stopping to lock the door.

I remember an HBO series on porn where a camera guy was married to or engaged to a porn star. Maybe Stormy (she posted here once). They asked him if he minded his gf getting railed in the next room. And you could hear her off camera scream. Lol.

The look on his face said he very much did mind. Just seemed to be a straight arrow camera guy who got a porn job. What the hell, pays the bills. The end during the credits they write a follow up to each person highlighted. They did not get married.

Little known fact: You Got the Touch was an actual song from the 1986 animated movie the Transformers!

It was then used in the 1988 short film The Dirk Diggler Story, which Boogie Nights is based on.

Also, Boogie Nights is one of my top 5 movies from the 90's. It's easily one of the most quoted movies from this era.

Fun fact, that was a mistake left in by PTA. William H. Macy was so flustered about his wife he flubbed his line
