About TLJ’s “original story”... (SPOILERS)

Understand that fan resentment is caused by how crappy that “original story” is. I’d rather have another retread than change for the sake of change. This film is going to age worse than TFA among Star Wars fans, regardless of execution. This is no longer the Skywalker’s saga and that is a HUGE mistake by Disney. How this clusterfrick of a story got greenlighted is beyond me.

I’m in this weird place where I didn’t like or dislike the movie.
I definitely didn’t walk out feeling like a kid again and thinking, “wow!” I went with three others and the truck ride home was really quiet.
Not trying to sound cheesy or over dramatic. It’s just hard to feel one way or the other about this one. To me, that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.

I just am seriously pissed about Snoke and Luke. J.J needs to pull off some storytelling gymnastics to fix that crap in 9.

I think that with the Star Wars films unlike the Marvel movies, Disney let JJ Abrams and Rian Johnson do pretty much whatever with each episodic release when there was no clear plan building from point A to B to C.
I think that's the problem with the supposed original story of TLJ (aside from killing off Luke, holy wtf). You set up all these things in TFA (I just watched the film last night) and you drop them entirely in the very next film.
