Saw it last night - LOVED IT. It's hard not to applaud original movies, these days. This one had some legitimately tense moments throughout. The kids' acting was great, the camera work was good, and it did a great job of instilling a sense of dread due to the unknown menace.

Did it feel basically like watching Tremors, but the monsters were above ground?

Saw it last night too, and man, what a great movie. I had so much anxiety watching this movie, but in a good way. Very engaging to watch and it kept the pace the entire time. The acting and sound design was great. Had a great sense of dread that could happen at any moment. Few jump scares that I felt were a little unnecessary but they didn't really take me out of the movie. Easily the quietest movie theatre audience I've seen a movie with. Great movie once again.

A few, but not many. It did a great job of creating an atmosphere of tension throughout without cheap scares. Also, not real gory or over the top bloody although there is a little of both. It was very good. I will see it again.

This was what I think is the most remarkable part of the film. I didn't see the Twitter marketing till this morning, but it made me LOL.

Apologies for size, but I'm on mobile, so it looks okay to me.

We catch most of our movies on Thursday nights and maybe it's Spring Break or just genuine interest - I don't know - but the crowd was larger than most non-SW/MCU Thursday nights and the collective buy-in to be deathly still during this movie was pretty remarkable.

Is it more of a horror film or more of a thriller?

Some stupid bitch waked I to the movie when it was 3/4s of the way o er with all her ducking shopping bags tackling. I almost fricking said something very bad to her.

Also, there was one beat in the back who said something a few times.

Thriller with some extraordinary elements. It's definitely not a slasher or even really a horror film. It's just a good old fashioned, edge-of-your-seat kind of movie.

Come on Vox. There is no way you couldn’t say this is a horror movie.

There are jump scares.

There are sudden loud noises.

There is fake outs

This is as much of a horror movie as any

Sorry, it didn't strike me as horror. Maybe my expectation of the genre is different than others'. Your other thread comparing it to another film is spot on, in my book. That one is more of a horror film to me than this.
