I am the same age as those kids.
As I’ve gotten older, my attitude toward them is this: “Boo fricking hoo. Your parents are mean. Get over it.”*

Molly Ringwald (the princess) played a basket case; well she could be considered a criminal but she was "working" in the mental hospital, and if I'm not mistaken she was actually a patient. I assume if Emilio (the jock) was in an episode he would have played a "princess," possibly the diplomat from 6X01 Shawn Rescues Darth Vader.

I was born after this movie was released so I had ever seen it on TV. For years I believed the “Eat my shorts” line was a tv edit for “Eat my shite,” until I watched it on a streaming service and realized it wasn’t.

There was a time when they used to edit the line from "eat my shorts" to "eat my socks." I remember seeing it on TBS once and doing a double take.

I like the movie a lot but I'm pretty iffy about Emilio as the jock and Molly as the pretty popular one. I have to suspend some disbelief. The talent at that school must've been shitty, in multiple ways
