Ford seems out of place so far.

I couldn't watch it. I expected it to be boring, not stagnant. I have a weird feeling the leads filmed everything in a week.

This week’s episode was awful. The Africa scene felt like I was watching the notebook.

Not feeling this one. Harrison Ford finally has a role that is not fitting well. I cringe at the narration.

To be honest I am enjoying Spencer story arc more than the others so far. Maybe more so because I like the open country in Africa or at least what is left of it.

I have no clue why the Indian girl arc is in here yet and the show as a whole is all over the place. It seems like I am watching multiple shows at the same time. So basically the season is gong to be about creating everyone's backstory and than the whole family coming together back on the ranch including Spencer.

Me neither.

Half the show is nothing to do with the Ranch. Feels like they got Harrison Ford but he only agreed to two weeks of shooting so it a lot of bullshite filler.

Ford is not good in this role especially compared to McGraw in 1883.

That may be true but Helen Mirren is killing it. She's carrying the show.

I haven’t started it, yet. Is Ford supposed to be playing McGraw’s character as an older man?

He's playing his Brother Jacob Dutton. Without giving up too much, you might have seen the flashback where James Dutton was shot 10 years after establishing the ranch in a gunfight with thieves and dies in the presence of his family in their home. The wife sends letter to his brother Jacob (Ford) to help with the ranch. Upon arrival he finds the wife had frozen to death with the two boys near death and raises them and takes over the ranch to pass it over to them.

FWIW, I'm enjoying 1923 so far. There's a lot of character and setting establishment going on and I wished the naysayers would allow it time to get all of the pieces on the board before bagging on it.

Yes but she has only been in what 10 minutes so far?

No flow with the show as it jumps around way to much for me.

I am enjoying it so far. Just different but I like the one season series and the stories of how they got to what we know is Yellowstone today.

Africa scene was the best scene in Episode 1...the cattle/sheep rancher scenes were like watching grass grow or squabbling over a clause in a contract.

But episode 2 in Africa didn't deliver.

Which is a shame because that was the only interesting storyline.

His brother.

Ford is basically trying to be his character from Cowboys and Aliens, it’s just not quite working, maybe it’ll improve.

I am as well just hoping for all the character arcs to come together at some point.

Finally got to see ep2. Jacob doing the dutton thing hanging the sheep herders. Glad Bron survived. Looking forward to more of his character.

Old lesbian nuns back in the 30s? Too bad neither her or the indian chick were hot.

Spencer gonna be railing the hot english blonde. " she's gonna run that skinny guy ragged"

Just watched episode 2. The Spencer story is really good. I told my wife just watching him drink his whiskey makes me want to drink one for fear of me not being “manly” enough.

Killing a leopard with his bare hands… kinda… dude is a straight up badass.

So, just so I get the family tree:

Jacob Dutton/Harrison Ford = Uncle (James Dutton’s/Tim McGraw’s brother)

Cara Dutton/Helen Mirren = Jacob Dutton’s wife

Spencer Dutton = One if the two brothers from 1883

Jack Dutton = Spencer’s younger brother (wasn’t in 1883/mentioned in opening scene of episode one of 1923)
