While not necessarily a horror flick I would maybe put "Bone Tomahawk" into the mix.....so to speak

I like to watch the original Halloween in October, just a classic movie that transcends the genre. This year I want to see the new one since it’s getting great reviews, best since the original actually.

I'll add in Ju-On, which is the original Japanese version of The Grudge.

No CGI, just good makeup and practical effects. I watched it in college with the girl next door and she actually screamed in terror at one point watching it. Creepy as hell.

The Invitation

I loved this movie. Takes a while to get going, then all hell breaks loose. It's not really a horror movie in the strictest sense, but it's got that uneasy feeling that something very bad is going to happen, and it does.

I'd add The Strangers, Starry Eyes, and Session 9 to the list. Also recommend Hereditary.

Check out Mandy. It's Nic Cage being Nic Cage and it's glorious. Evil Dead meets Hellraiser. Yep.

My go-to horror movies are The Invitation and High Tension.

Bruh

This movie contains one of my all-time favorite pieces of cinematography--the pullback shot in the girl's living room early in the film.
