With the 6th pick in the msb draft the Indianapolis Colts select Roquan Smith - INSIDE LB - GEORGIA
With this pick the Colts were expexting to see more QBs go early, and hoping to land Bradley Chubb or Quenton Nelson in the 6 spot. If this scenerio happens on draft day the dream scenerio is to trade down with Buffalo to allow them to take Rosen or Mayfield and Indy load up on more picks. But as it stands there are no trades in the MSB draft, so we settled on Roquan. The colts are moving to a 4-3 defense this year, and are lacking talent at inside linebacker. Roquan fills that need, and can step in immediately to play.

With the 7th pick...the Bucs select...
Denzel Ward! CB from The Ohio State University.
(Also...a legit WYHI bonus)
With our primary needs being pass rush and corner, we tried to address some of our pass rush deficiencies in Free Agency given the lack of top level DEs in the draft. That left us with a couple of options at corner, and we felt that Ward was the top pure corner in the draft. His speed and athleticism should help him to compete from day 1 and he should be ready to assume CB1 duties after Grimes plays out his 1 yr contract.

Why him over Fitzpatrick? Just curious...

Outside corners are much more valuable than slot corners/safeties

Ward’s stock has been skyrocketing the last few weeks.

Jets trading the world to draft a running back is the most jets thing ever

This draft already went off the rails. Start over.

so its like a real draft? Every year teams make surprising picks, or trade multiple picks to draft a questionable pick. Happens every year.

Yeah, I know, but the Jets are not passing on Rosen there. Completely unrealistic.

Thanks, glad you could let us know Mr Mike Maccagnan

They didn't trade up for a RB.

What if their top two QBs are off the board and Barkley was 3rd on their big board? It could happen... RB is a position of need too.

They would take QB 3 on their board. Pretty simple

Barkley is a beast but if the they traded that haul just to move up 3 spots for a running back, this will be the move that gets their GM fired in a year or two imo

Maybe they don’t want to just take A QB... they want to take THE qb. Maybe they thought Darnold and Rosen would go 1,2 and Allen was their guy?
Once Allen is gone, they adjust course.
Just trying to throw out scenarios

Then they wouldn’t have made the move to trade up in the first place
