Agreed. I've always considered the 2001 WS more of a choke than the 2003 one but hey, that's baseball.
worst yankees lose in my life, but i dont really consider it a choke. the best closer in the history of the game made a terrible throw to 2nd, then gave up a broken bat bloop hit, thats baseball.
btw- how much different would sorianos career been if the yankees win that game. he would have hit the game winner in the 8th.

2008- 3 years
2007- 4 years
2006- 5 years
2005- 6 years
2004- 7 years
2003- 8 years
2002- 9 years
2001- 10 years
2000- 11 years
1999- 12 years
1998- 13 years
1997- 14 years
1996- 15 years
Unless we are not counting this year and actually starting from 2009

Good question. No doubt it would have been more difficult to trade him for ARod but then again, maybe it still would have played out the way it did. In hindsight, we should have traded for Beckett when he was available and also hindsight, Andy wouldn't have gone to Houston. The unpleasantness of 2004 never would have happened with Andy.

It doesn't matter cuz we still won in 1996. 1995 we were so impressed by Tino Martinez that we went out and got him the next year.
And if you want to be technical, technically 2010 is not 1 year ago from 2010, that would be 0 years ago. So your scale TD was just a little off. My fellow Yankees fan is still correct.

Well we were the underdog that year and weren't picked to win, so no choke. But that year DID set the foundation for what would become the greatest 15 year run in MLB. Should have started in 94 but that's a thread for another day.

OK now you are really being dumb. You talk about ALL the championships the yanks have and then NOT mention the 15 years from 1946-1960. Posted on 10/21/10 at 4:21 pm to dukke v
