This mean Cashmen is going to trade Cano, Melky, Swisher, or someone and buy the best bullpen arms available later.

Cash doesn't wanna 'buy' the team his thing has always been developing...Hank, George, and the Tampa Brass are another story. I think with Hal and Cash seemingly running the ship now they'll be alright.

if we can get a 10 run homerun here, we're in business.

How about bringing up Phil Hughes and the other young arms and putting them in the bullpen. They can't do any worse.

And Manny hits homeruns...

Farnsworth was hated by Yankee fans. He also blamed his 2007 4.80 ERA on Joe Torre because Torre wouldn't pitch him in back to back days (because he sucked in back to backs).

I like the idea but how would Cash and Joe feel about putting Hughes in the pen? I agree it can't get any worse unless we pull up Igawa.

I kinda see this as a make or break year for Joe G though... He is going to request bullpen help before the deadline at this rate.
Being that Cash hired him he is going to have to do something.

I want the Yanks to develop some players, hell he core of their championship teams was home grown players. You can't win buying playing, you need to develop and maybe add 1 player. Buying a team has never worked as far as my recollection goes back.

Hey, at least it's not the bottom of the 9th. Anything can happen.

No offense to the Indians fans, but their pen isn't the best either.

Not saying we are going to come back, but crazier things have happened.

And wins world series. Farnsworth was hated because he sucked for quite some time then all of a sudden last year he figured it out and was doing fine. Torre was HORRIBLE with pitching decisions anyway.

Oh, and a double play from Posada. Nice one there, Jorge. Glad to see this team gives up so easily.

Personally I thought it was a retarded hire in the first place. Bringing that militant attitude to a group of vets like the Yankees? That will work with the Marlins but shite when you played with some of the team that's gotta be weird.

I mean if he was such an intricate part of their winning world series' then why did the whole team (minus his only friend Ortiz) want him gone?

I understand your argument that he started to figure his stuff out later on, but that's a small sample compared to all the FAIL he put out in NY.

Because they are dumbasses...he WAS an intricate part of the WS wins. I'm not saying we need Farns or anything but he was kinda the last glimmer of anything out of the pen last year, we went from one to none.

Honestly after Torre any manager that came in was gonna be a let down. I mean last years team was old, this year well we are still old.
Jeter, Jorge, Rivera, Damon as much as I appreciate what they have done, Yanks have not groomed anyone to take their spots.
I like the energy Swisher has brought this team though. Bring a little fun back to the game for some of players.

I <3 that idea but you know 90% of the fanbase would flip. "JOBA IS SO GREAT HE IS THE BEST THING WE HAVE!" Hughes, if he gets his shite back together which i think he will, can be JUST FINE as a 5th starter. Don't think you want him in the pen. Joba? Helllll yes.

Joba too pen, I don't see why anyone would have a problem with this. I mean hell he would then take over for Rivera in 2 years and become the highest paid closer in baseball.

I was never a big Torre fan. I dunno why. Jorge has Cash coming up, Ajax will be ready in a year or two to replace JD, and if they would stop being dumbasses Joba could replace mo. As far as Jeter who the hell knows. He's not an elite SS anymore by any means but what the hell do you do? Imagine the PR nightmare if he ever dons another jersey.

Went to a couple of games last year and all the locals I talked to were sooo high on him as a starter. I think he has promise as a starter but the durability bothers me. Plus I just like Hughes more as a starter.
