I have to wonder if the people putting Dallas as a favorite to win the league did so purely off of Stoops rep b/c I'm not sure what the hell they could have seen during scrimmages to have them be such a heavy favorite in this game let alone for winning the entire league.

My guess it's b/c most talking heads have a very limited knowledge of CFB past the big schools so Jones is a guy they've heard of they could glom on to.
