It's not Kane's first world title. He won it in the late 90's on some PPV. He lost it a day later on RAW though so it's understandable that you forgot. I did too, but i read it somewhere.

Oh yeah I know what you mean man I specifically mean the world title, the old WCW belt. You're talking about the WWE title, though. It was a "first blood" match, where the loser would be the first one that bleeds. This is the same PPV where Undertaker threw Mankind off the top of the cell.. (10/10 classic)

Well halfway through the match Mankind was Kane's co tag team champion, he got involved, Undertaker got involved as well, Taker went for Kane with a chair and nailed Austin in the head. When the referee saw Austin was bleeding, he rang the bell and Kane won the match, becoming the new WWF champion.

The next night on Raw, Vince proudly hosted a ceremony where he was going to give Kane and Paul Bearer the championship. Before he could, Austin's music hit and he ran down to the ring telling Vince he was screwed and he wanted a championship match that night in the main event.

Vince said it was okay with him if it was okay with Paul Bearer. Bearer said it was okay if it was okay with Kane. Kane agreed and the match was on. Austin won the match, and won the WWE championship. Kane was the WWF(E) champion for less than 24 hours. 2 years ago he won the ECW championship at Wrestlemania 24's battle royal. Last sunday he won the world title.

So this is going to be Kane's first serious championship reign in 13 years with the company, he's such a company guy though that he didn't really want the championship if someone else (Edge, Jericho, CM Punk, Jack Swagger, etc) could benefit more from having it. Kane's a beast and I'm glad he's the champ now.

Big Show and Kane will be the only two to have ever held the WWE/world/ECW titles. Fun fact..

Ah it's cool.

I guess Impact is coming on in a little while. I'm going to see if the new Ring Of Honor is online.

edit: It is online. www.youtube.com/rohbrazil

The Monday shows come on HDNet, if you have a satellite you can watch it but it's not on Cox. This guy uploads them on his youtube channel every Wednesday or Thursday.

ROH is the biggest independent in the country, Samoa Joe, Nigel McGuinness (TNA's Desmond Wolfe), CM Punk and Bryan Danielson (WWE NXT's Daniel Bryan) all worked there and put on awesome matches.

And Big Show is the only one to have ever held those 3 and the WCW belt when it was still in WCW!

It's apples and oranges. Not every wrestler in the world is a top flight athlete. Rikishi and Yokozuna, in particular, were working WWE when standards weren't set as high as they are now. Their audience didn't really take it as seriously, as long as Hulk Hogan was legdropping people, and The Rock was rock bottoming people, that's really all they cared about. People had their wrestlers they watched, and it was undrestood that the undercard was usually when people were paying less attention. After all the steroids and drugs incidents (and deaths), they cracked down a few years ago and they emphasize physical wellness.

Ref. Everyone on the WWE roster.

Be it as it may, if you're that good of a wrestler you can be fat, but you're not going to carry a 15-20 minute match, and you're not going to fit in with the WWE's current product, and as long as the WWE is the measuring stick, for the most part they are the model wrestling show that everyone else in the minor leagues and independents base their show off of. Come to think of it, I don't know any mainstream wrestlers that are just a big joke like Yokozuna was. Anytime there were any fat wrestlers, the commentators and the interview people would usually comment on how "strong" they were, for creative depth. Like Mark Henry, but he gets away with it because he was an olympic powerlifter.

Like I said, apples and oranges.

The Big Show is awesome. I haven't seen him live, he was on Raw when Smackdown came to Baton Rouge last February.

Impact! was one of their better shows tonight.

Yeah the only way to properly watch wrestling is to not go into with "this is a sport mentality" Watch it as if it were any other weekly show with characters, settings, and plots. If you do that then it can be entertaining. (not as much as it used to)

With that said the Undertaker > you.

Undertaker is the shite I saw him for the first time last February.

Garnet check out Ring Of Honor. If you don't get HDNet on your TV, you can watch at youtube.com/rohbrazil

They are pretty official and the wrestlers for their company are pretty serious. It's underground atmosphere reminds me of the old ECW but it's overall better, the wrestlers are better.

Yeah back when I was really into wrestling (has since kind of faded away) I remember hearing about ROH a lot. Isn't that were CM Punk came out of?

Yeah man Punk had some awesome matches there, and was the ROH champ. So did TNA's Samoa Joe.

Speaking of Punk.. lol @ this LINK

CM Punk is one of the best in the WWE today.

I've been to a ROH show. About 3 years ago. Good show, I saw Homicide, Christopher Daniels, Takeshi Morishima, Austin Aries, and others. ROH's problem is lack of a better cable tv deal and their own limitations to the Northeast and Midwest. They also do shows in Ohio, Detroit, and Chicago. They need at least 700 people for the show to make money.

WWE has gotten to PG, though they have they have wrestlers who look like wrestlers and more pizzaz. I like the new direction TNA is taking with ECW. Let's hope they do hardcore.

My favorite indy fed now is CZW. I watch some of their dvds.

Until Punk wins the WWE Championship or Swagger takes the World Heavyweight Championship. You know both of those are going to happen eventually.

Well it looks like this show is on TV right now, we could've watched it earlier on Youtube, but Kane killed the opening segment, the whole whodunnit with the Undertaker is making for creative substance that works for Kane, especially as champion, imo.

SCTmo:
I stand corrected. I forgot to have counted those WCW/ECW champs who have yet to win the WWE title. Good call.

Ralphie:
It's always good to talk to someone about Ring Of Honor, I've never got to talk to someone who's been to it, though. It's kinda hard to come by in Baton Rouge, or the Gulf South in general, like you said, where ROH just doesn't happen.

I would have to agree with your descriptions on the major American promotions for the present.

Has anyone been to WWE's youtube channel? It's not necessarily cool. All of the good stuff has been uploaded by other fans, including the latest shows. Maybe WWE is to crack down on that shite eventually. I wouldn't be surprised.
