Gonna tell my “Rounders-esque” story now as we wait for Day 4 to start
Last year.. was playing a circuit event and Fossilman raymer sat next to me on my direct left … fairly early on … I raise with pocket tens.. raymer calls…( he doesn’t wear the sunglasses anymore.. he claims he can’t really see good with them these days).. flop is 10 5 2
I check to raymer.. he bets.. I pull a check min raise… he shoves over the top .. of course I snap with top set.. he is reluctant to show his K10 offsuit and almost drawing dead.. he turns a flush draw and bricks the river.. I outplayed a world champion and had him dead to rights … always think about that then I think how we would play for $10 at my friends pool..
About as CSB as I’ve got haha.

He shoves with top pair and King kicker offsuit? After you check raised him he shoves he has to know hes behind. Bad play by him...

We should do Tigerdroppings poker tournaments like we did back in the day.
Pretty sure I won every one of them

2 of the 3 BR guys got eliminated. Chris Dupuy finished in the money, Witherspoon finished barely out of the money. Chad Grace from BR is still battling.

I think he still got 7500 bc him and another guy got eliminated the same hand so they split last place

I haven’t heard from Chad in an hour or so so not sure what his stack looks like and the wsop site is slow to update

I was asked to deal another feature table today. For those watching the livestream, I’m dealing Feature Table 3. My next time in the box is 5:30 Central time (3:30 Vegas time)….in about 10 minutes.
Each of the three feature tables have three dealers dedicated to it. We each deal for 30 minutes and break for one hour. It’s an easy, fun cool shift when asked to deal a feature and/or final table. This is my second feature table and I’ve already dealt three final tables this series. They hired around 1800 dealers, but only about 60 of us are on the restart team (the ones that deal the feature tables, final tables, mix games and Days 2+ of the large buy-in tournaments). For the record, there are many dealers not on the restart team that are absolutely qualified, but choose not to be on it or because there are no spots available.
The only thing that sucks is we have to use the RF cards so the hole cards can be seen for TV. They are extremely stiff and are much more difficult to shuffle and pitch than the traditional type cards we normally use.
Gotta go get miked up now…

Steven Song one of the chip leaders at the feature table
He’s a nice guy.. kind of awkward and Gooberish and has been on a high roller tear.. including a WPT win.. he knocked me out of a circuit event a few years ago and he was on the upward swing back then. Not too surprised at his rise and he does well in this big fields .

This may be stupid and I always think abiut this but for you dealers.. do you prefer the auto shufflers like at the final tables/ do your hands hurt less from the lack of hand shuffling?
I always like seeing some of the more familiar dealers who travel around and the really good ones who show up on the stream like oh that guy ! He’s great and they have great stories to tell at the table

I just got back from Vegas.
A few notes: Barry hitter is a douche, but damn he’s a good player. Adrian Mateos is the best player I’ve ever seen. Alex Keating is a great player and should go super deep. Mattnstout isnangreat player and should also go deep.adrian Mateos e was on my table for a couple hours. I had no idea what to do. These young Europeans are using gto/micro bets constantly. Tiny 3 bets, tiny 4 bets—-tiny 3-bets with 20% c bets with their entire range etc..they also mix i(balance l) with tiny value bets along with full pot and more than pot sized bets on the river. . I put in hundreds of hours of studying to prepare for the main event this year and i felt completely hamstrung by many of these young euro(and Asian pros). I need to get back in the lab for a long time.
I basically retreated and employed my own pre-flop shirt stack strategy and was able to navigate to day 4..it was a solid run, but I feel I was outplayed a bit and def outclassed by quite a few players.
With that being said, I don’t play a ton of Mtt’s anymore(nor did I ever after I stopped playing online) but I need some more work. When it comes to live cash games I was def more comfortable against the same guys I played all week in the main event.
I’m rooting for my boy Barth Melius. He’s a great guy and a solid poker player. I hope he wins the entire thing
