I pay enough for cable tv and the Internet to watch all the games I want. I live 13 miles from TCF Bank stadium and I can get tickets at less than face value for games and I'd still rather watch on tv.

Can you list all the schools?
No Georgia for the SEC?

Also, this made me laugh for some reason:

I'm surprised he didn't outright deny it since FSU fans think UF is the only school that fudges attendance numbers.

We really need a streaming service to get the rights to the games and end commercials altogether. Would speed the games up a ton and help the in-person atmosphere.

Schools won’t be able to compete with TV. It is what it is, with every game on TV, and that’s not changing.

IMO, schools need to incentivize and reward fans who make sure their tickets gets used, either by themself or someone else. In LSU’s case, a couple ideas would be... if your tickets get used for 100% of the games, maybe you get extra TAF points or a discounted or free postseason ticket.

Obviously, overall fan experience has to improve, but if there’s no one in the seat to recognize the improvements what have you accomplished?

I know in my case, when I can’t make a home game, if one of my closest friends doesn’t need the ticket, I don’t make much effort to find someone who wants to use it. Now if I had something riding on ensuring that ticket gets used, I’d certainly be more proactive in making sure it ends up in the hands of someone that is going to use it. I wouldn’t “eat tickets” as casually as I do now.

Stadiums are way too big for a lot of schools.

The Astros incentivize use of tickets by stating if you sell more than 50% of your season ticket package thru something like StubHub you're considered a broker and postseason eligibility is cut. But the problem for LSU is that they'd possibly be shutting out big donors that may have season tickets but only make 1 or 2 games and taking a loss on selling their extras.

TAF points are probably the least disruptive way which in turn rewards those that not only donate via the tradition fund it helps those who actually show up to games.

This isn't just a problem for college sports, pro sports is running into this as well. The teams are essentially pricing out an entire generation of fans. People are growing up without the expectation that going to games is part of the fan experience.

When these kids grow up, it could be a ticking time bomb for live attendance of all sports. The TV experience is honestly better for a lot of fans, and certainly less expensive.
