Does this dude not know ESPN broadcasts poker?

Funny how every year this thread is made and runs through the WSOP and every year someone posts how poker is not a sport on page 1, like seeing this on their board is just urking the shite out of them.

In other news, Doyle Brunson is 3rd in chips.

Does this really belong on a sports board? Can we get some threads on the checkers and dominoes championships next?

"We picked up the action on fifth street, with Phil Hellmuth and David Oppenheim showing inverse boards. Hellmuth bet, and Oppenheim called. The Poker Brat bet again on sixth, and Oppenheim flatted again. Both checked the river, and brace yourself for an explosion on showdown. Oppenheim had for kings and nines with an ace. Hellmuth threw down the , meaning he had kings and nines as well but was outkicked. Don't see that too often, and you know how much Hellmuth loves it when he gets unlucky. He mucked his cards with some serious force and got out of his seat to get some added volume into his ranting.
Oppenheim is building nicely and on 330,000. Hellmuth looks less healthy with 95,000"
Can't wait to see Hellmuth lose it on tv on that one.

From what I read(and I can't place the site) it will be on tv. They changed the final table back to NLHE only, the way this event was originally played, mainly for tv.

Andy is always near the top. Best player to never win a bracelet?

I played at a table with Andy on Full Tilt for micro stakes. He was on a plane and didn't want to lose big money for losing connection. I took some of his cash, albeit small amount.

I'm headed there in a little over a week. Never been during the WSOP so kind of excited just to walk around it and check it out. There is a $1k buy-in NLHE tourney that weekend (lowest buy-in tourney) that I seriously considered entering. But I don't think I have balls to do it. If I want to waste a grand, there's much better ways to do it...

Rob Mizrachi has the lead, Grinder in 5th.
Definitely televised. I just saw a pic posted from The Grinder and it's got a guy holding a boom mic over the table.

Both Mizrachi's left in $50K event. Down to 7.
6 events going on right now.
Some player got perma banned from the WSOP for stealing chips from a neighbor's pile while scooping a winning pot.

WTF. That is some dumb shite, and he deserves to never be allowed at a table again.

It was just before a break. Most had left the tables. Apparently as he was scooping the winning chips with one hand, he used the other to scoop a stack from the neighbor. He was escorted out by security.

Did anyone get a name? I can't imagine it being a known pro.
Posted on 6/1/10 at 8:59 pm to 9Fiddy
No name reported. Checked some websites and nothing. Alomost positive it's no one with any substance in the poker world.
