Needs to be an 8 team playoff, it would only allow injustice to maybe a wrong 7th or 8th entry once in a while. But, it would even more so than the current four format..would nearly 100% guarantee that the "eventual champ/best team" is never not included.
The current field of four will yield years where a Power 5 team may be a hot finishing 2nd place divisional team that is yet is on the outside looking in, and may well be the best team in the country.

I can easily put OSU in over Baylor, but doing so vs TCU is still tough for me, over quality of losses head-to-head.
But, I rate current play level of OSU a hair better than TCU..and way better than Baylor's.
