I have two sons, 16 and 13. 16 year old late bloomer so cross country/Track/Band is his thing. Youngest is much better athlete, last year in 7th grade I left it up to him and he said he didn't care to. He loves basketball so does that at school Fall/Winter and Flag in the Spring.

Adopted when he was 2
5th grader weighing 165 lbs and playing guard
I don’t worry about him much unless he falls on someone

Unless you are letting him play kicker you are putting him into an unnecessary sessions as a pin cushion

He's a classic over-compensator. Short and physically intimidated by most men, so he's a hard arse on the internet.

Im 6'0" 170, but my dad and his brother are 6'3"+ 220lbs and two of my cousins were the same size and both played football for lsu

My wifes family is tiny Hispanics so no telling how big my son will end up. He is 2 and is in the 90th % right now. I will only let him play if he is still physically bigger when he is older, and even then I will try to subconsciously convince him not too

I recently talked with a neuro that was working on some CTE research. I asked her when is a good age for kids to start playing tackle football. She said never.
